We usually go to the Hartford location so we were shocked at how different (bad) the quality of the food was here because we’ve never had a bad experience at our regular location. Our server did a fantastic job but the rest that was out of her control did not go well. We waited around 20 minutes for our food to arrive at the table just to realize that my wife’s food was room temperature - the plate was very warm however from the hot lamps I assume so I know the server couldn’t have realized the food on the warmed plate was not warm anymore. My salmon was also about 2/3 - 1/2 the size of the salmon I usual get at the Hartford location. I’ve gotten the salmon 3 separate times there so I feel fairly confident in saying the portion standard for that dish was lacking here. And considering we were paying the same price it was very upsetting to receive significantly less ounces of salmon than usual. We had to wait another 20 minutes for my wife’s re-fire dish to come out so I ended up having to eat mine without here so that I wouldn’t also have to eat cold food. When you are both hungry and one of you has to just watch the other eating in front of you while you have nothing it does not make for a good dining experience. I will say her re-fire dish was much better quality and looked visibly fresher and was at an appropriate temperature that time! My wife’s dish was taken off our final bill, so I did appreciate not having to pay that amount considering everything that went wrong with it. Something else to note regarding accessibility, if you’re going to have a multi level restaurant with an elevator for accessibility, it would be a good idea to train the host staff to check with guests first on if they would prefer the elevator or stairs when seating them on the second floor instead of walking directly towards the stairs at a brisk pace and not even looking back. My wife has a disability that’s not visibly obvious, much like the other 10% of Americans who also have an invisible disability. So it was stressful for her to have to navigate going up the stairs in a rushed manner no less. And then when we tried to at least use the elevator to go down, the buttons never responded and the elevator did not come up to the second floor for us so she had to use the stairs again. I think this location is just not for us and we will be sticking to our usual one in Hartford...
Read moreBeyond terrible experience yesterday. We frequent this restaurant A LOT so having this sort of experience was shocking. Went for lunch yesterday with another couple, my husband and our 2 young children. Everything started out great but went downhill fast. We got seated right away, 12:20pm. Ordered drinks and appetizers and my daughters entree because she needed to eat. 2 soups came out that we ordered but no nachos that we ordered in addition to the soups. Waitress did not apologize for this, she clearly didn’t write it down. About 25 minutes had gone by since we got our soups, we were ready to order our lunch entrees. Our waitress was nowhere to be found. She finally came around, we ordered- 3 burgers, and a chicken sandwich. 30 mins had gone by since ordering, then 40 mins. I finally went up to the hostess stand to ask for a manager since we hadn’t seen our waitress. I said listen, we’ve been here since 12:20 we haven’t gotten our food, can you please check on it? Manager had ZERO customer service skills, not even an “I’m sorry”, he said let me go check. 10 mins goes by, he comes to our table and said the ticket was only put in 20 mins ago. I was appalled, clearly our waitress forgot to put our entrees in just like she forgot our nacho appetizer. Finally our food comes out AN HOUR AND A HALF later after first sitting down. Ridiculous. Once our food arrived we asked for the check, not knowing how long it would take us to get it. We told our waitress this was our worst experience, she finally apologized. After she picked up the check we never saw her again, she just have been scared and didn’t want to show her face to our table again. She had her work friends do her dirty work for her because she didn’t want to see us again. Well, it gets even worse!!!! Another waitress came to our table and accused us of throwing our credit card and hitting our original waitress in the chest! Never happened and we would NEVER do something like this no matter how upset we were. I couldn’t believe we were actually accused of something like this. We won’t be back to this location. You need to work on management, customer service and hire waitresses that actually know what...
Read moreThe best/only good part of the meal was our waitress. She was great and very kind given the circumstances. The minute we arrived the guy in the lobby with the glasses. (I think he was a manager) was just rude to my wife & I. Zero personality whatsoever. Then when he sat us in our igloo he did not say anything. Just left the menus, did not explain anything about the igloo/temperature, and kept the igloo door open. When our waitress came over to greet us she was extremely confused as to why we were left there like that. She was trying to get the temperature to work in the igloo and she asked for that guy's help and again he was just totally worthless and did nothing. Why is the waitress, who is also the one handling the food, spending all of her time trying to get the kerosene to work? Not only is that not really her job but seems kind of strange to be touching that and then food. After sitting in the cold for about 10 minutes we had to move to another igloo. Again, the waitress was great and not her fault at all, but totally sloppy on management/owners part. Second igloo worked fine and was nice but had no speaker in it. Sloppy again. Ordered our food and the runner brought it out. My wife's broccoli was freezing cold to the touch and the rest of the food was fine. Unfortunately we had no silverware and we asked the runner for some so we could eat our meals. There was none outside so she had to go in the building to get silverware and took about another 5 minutes. So we were just sitting there staring at our food unable to eat. Again SLOPPY. Why is there no silverware to begin with? And why is there none outside at all? Oh then when I finally got my silverware my fork was stabbing my mouth the whole time I ate, but I didn't even dare ask for another set. My food would have been freezing by then.
Also think it's silly that the $25 reservation fee is for nothing, I figured it applies to your meal total or something and if you do not show up you just lose it. I frequent Wood N Tap in Vernon and Newington, but the Farmington location, specifically the igloo left much to be desired. Waste of money and I...
