I came specifically for the Turkey Day Sandwich, which I know better as a gobbler sandwich (and sometimes called a Pilgrim sandwich), which is absolutely my favorite kind of sandwich. The execution on the ingredients was excellent. The experience of eating it, however, left a bit to be desired.
The stuffing was kind of lopped in as a chunk rather than evenly spread. The Texas toast is a bit of a softer bread and stretched and tore apart a bit, which made it difficult to taste a culmination of all the wonderful flavors of the ingredients in any one bite, particularly with the stuffing not evenly spread. The gravy and cranberries were served on the side, which compounded on the tasting all the wonderful flavors in any one bite problem, though I would say it makes sense if you're doing takeout, particularly with softness of the Texas toast being particularly prone to getting soggy. I poured the gravy and the cranberries on myself. All of the ingredients tasted wonderful, even the bread I'm complaining about.
I'll be back once in a while for this sandwich because I don't know of any other place in the area that sells gobbler sandwiches, and I'll become a frequent diner at this place if they ever offer something like a panini press version of their Turkey...
Read moreI admit this sandwich shop is good but every time I call to place an order for skins they are always out. During Easter week I called the entire week trying to get turkey skins at both locations and was not successful. Then I was told that they no longer take orders over the phone. This was the down town shop. I truly didn't believe that at all and was very disappointed with the responses I received every time I called. I was told they were very busy which I expect from a business but not to tell me they can not take my order. A full week later I finally got lucky and was told they had turkey skins. This was the shop on painters mill road. I was so excited that I ordered 3 bags. How disappointed I was again because these three bags were less than half full. What a bummer!!!! I feel I did not get my money worth at all. No plans to return because I feel ripped off because they knew my desperation for these skins.I constantly called to see if they hard skins and the answer...
Read moreI've come here, (Paintersmill Rd), regularly since 2017; live just around corner a matter of football field away so I know this place.
The QUALITY of food has greatly FALLEN OFF as has service and selection.
I ordered 2 of my favorite Cranberry Pecan Salad sandwiches and you could barely TASTE any cranberries on either one! I SAW cranberries(I think so) but couldn't taste any!
Calling to place my order was how I always ordered but now you'd be very fortunate to be answered the first time. Online is convenient but of course no questions about anything and hard to place order w extras or excluding anything.
I dint recognize any of new staff and none of them knew me like in past. Used to see owner regularly and when I casually asked about em they basically were like "don't know/we don't see em either" lol.
Are there good items here? Yes but basically the place has gone from place I suggested to all my...
