Just moved to the area. Thought I would try. Eat out allot and will continue with certain places if the basics are met. Very simple requests. People like ourselves eat out for basically the service, attentive staff and food quality. Otherwise. Just stay home. With just moving from Detroit area. Been everywhere.
First time visit rating. (Again. The basics ) Location good. Outside is deceiving until you get inside. Roomy. Good layout. Upon entry. Staff greeting you was nice. Seated on patio.
Sat 15 min while 2-6 staff cleaned table oblivious to our presence. Finally a young lady came from bar area and asked if we have been helped and let us know she had tables in bar. Ok? Did not ask what we wanted to drink. Took 5 min to get menu. Disappeared for another 7 min. Came back. Took food order. I had to ask. Can I like maybe get a beer? That took another 7 mins. Then someone else brought food about 2 min from my beer to finally showing
People in outdoor area. Nice area outside. They turned on music. Apparently. The people on patio inside area should have a sign. If your hard of hearing. Sit out here. As the speaker inside blasted to the point I was yelling to hear my other halfs words who was trying to tell me about her day.
Food. Good. Someone else brought that. Server mid way thru dinner ( we stopped talking as we were yelling at each other with loud music). Good for outside people. Inside. The speaker needs to be separated for lower sound control. Anyway. Mystery server I had to ask for another beer. That one came right out.
Then we were done. Waited 15 mins and had to flag another server to get our MIA server. Someone else brought bill. Another 5 mins. Wow!!! Mystery server appeared. Took bill and payment. Someone else brought that back. Being an avid eat out person(s). You are tired want to go home. And held hostage for drinks / service first and held more for getting bill. What should been 1 hr. Was over 2 hrs
Food again was good. Quality appearance. But I am a domestic beer farm boy at roots. Like Atwater blonde. But $6.50 for a tall? Really. Maybe at more refined overpriced restaurant. Not expected at a place like this. Previous places was mostly $4 to 5. Zero domestic in tap? Not everyone likes micro beer. Most every where has at least one domestic on tap?
Summary. Food was a 10. Beer quality an 8. Service. -2. Cost. Food avg. drinks. Way over priced for a sports bar. Good if you like bottled beer
We again are repeat people. Walked out and both first said. Ahhhhh. I can hear you again. Looked at each other and said. Well, strike that one off. Just wanted dinner and drinks after a long day. Next....... will not be returning.
First impressions tell it all. In this industry. It's food , service and quality friendly staff that make the difference. You should feel like your appreciated and glad your spending your hard earned cash here and not at the 20 other possibilities. Not be ignored and being a bother of inconvenience. If your food is good. Drinks worth the cost and most importantly. Staff treats you like they value you and keep at least checking on you. You have a winning combination. You return. Most importantly. Tell others.
Think I just did. To bad. Seemed like a good choice. But turned out as a non- repeat hang out for a couple of...
Read moreSo basically as soon as we got there we were approached by a rude hostess who eneded up being our server. She was unpleasant the whole time so we did not plan to tip her much at all. Her boyfriend was sitting at the table next to us (she repeatedly kept going over to him and hugging him and playing on her phone at his table) and im assuming he heard us talk about how we were dissatisfied because suddenly some guy came over and looked at our receipts to see how much we were tipping her and claimed if we tipped her well he would buy us drinks. We said no to the drinks and between our whole table we tipped $7. (There was 5 of us and we only ordered a few drinks total). So as we left she yells at us "thanks for only tipping me $1!" We started walking home and the same man who approached us at our table earlier came outside yelling at us trying to start a fight. We all tried to walk away except my fiance stayed back and the guy got up in his face saying if we didn't go back and tip her well there was going to be problems. We told him if they want better tips we need better service. He claimed he was the owner and that he owned 3 restaurants and asked if we were from the area and he told us to never come back. Obviously this girl has never been a server before because not receiving a tip or getting a bad one is normal, it happens, thats the risk you take being a server. The fact this guy came out saying he was going to fight the guys in my group if we didn't go back and tip better was highly inappropriate. The cops were called, hopefully they actually showed up. While this guy was in our faces threatening us, the whole crew was standing outside with our server yelling "you only tipped me $1!!!" Our bill was literally $16 and we only got 2 drinks. Not to mention, no one was wearing a mask, and when the server handed us our drink she grabbed them from the top, the part you drink from (no gloves on). Also, when she was putting the straws in our drinks I literally watched her grab the part that would be in our mouths with her bare hands and put them...
Read moreVisited The Barn for the first time with a group of friends this past Friday night and was sorely disappointed. Service was incredibly slow (was at least 30 minutes before we received our first round of beers) and food was subpar. My boyfriend and I, as well as another couple each ordered the giant nacho platter and all our chips were stale. Both couples sent the nachos back and ordered other food (the waffle fries were good, the meat pizza was mediocre). The manager came and apologized and stated they would "comp" the nachos (they should've just not charged us and "comped" another food item...I gathered they didn't understand the notion of "comping". Especially when we ate only a couple chips). We were also informed that they would buy our group of 6 a round of drinks on the house. I only ordered a second drink for that reason. My boyfriend and I left earlier than the others and we received NO complimentary drinks. We questioned the waitress about our bill and being charged for the second round of drinks, and she informed us that the other couples' drinks were instead comped. I later found out from my friend that NOBODY received drinks on the house. So...bad service, bad food, bad management, and dishonest billing. And in general, I felt that drinks and food were incredibly overpriced for the quality. I don't plan on returning and neither...
