Over the weekend my friend had a small birthday gathering planned for a place in Ferndale but when everyone got there we were told it would still be an hour and a half to two hour wait so we went next door to Danny's. It was my first time coming here so I didn't know what to expect and tried ordering food but they said the kitchen was closed because they do not have a chef on hand at night. I still sat down and got a beer and a mixed drink and went to cash out when one of the waitresses with my card said I needed a minimum order of $10. I was so shocked that my total was only $7 so I said whatever and got another mixed drink which brought me up to $10. So that means a mixed drink was only $3 and a beer was $4 which seemed a little strange but whatever. The mixed drinks were fairly strong too. My boyfriend said they were messing with me and I shouldn't have been forced to buy another drink and what if I didn't have that much on my card? I don't know how any of that works and I was happy that the price was so low so it wasn't a bother to me but they did claim if you pay with a card instead of cash there is a minimum purchase of $10 and they never mentioned that until I was trying to leave. Overall it was a nice little pub with great prices and I will be going back if I'm in...
Read moreWe love Ferndale and all the fun businesses in area but wow we will NOT BE BACK here! Was there during the Dream Cruise week and was deeply disappointed in the cleanliness of the place as well as the staff which were extremely POOR to say the least. Female bartender very rude and unprofessional #1 reason we will not return. The floor had trash and old food on the floor. Instead of doing shots with the patrons staff should clean on down time especially around the popcorn station. Bathroom was disgusting, no TP in the ladies room bartender doesn't seem to care about the restroom either.... what does she use??? Danny's is a "hole in the wall" but I would if the good people of Ferndale were smart they would patch that "hole in the wall" by allowing the really fun and delicious taco bar(Imperial) to expand by taking over Danny's. We can never get a table cause the Imperial is packed unlike Danny's.... Save your money and...
Read moreEnded up here for a few late night drinks after a wedding that I was attending in the area. We stopped in late enough that any crowds that would have been around, had pretty much subsided (it was also a Sunday so that helped as well). I mention this because this place is quite small, and in my opinion could get crowded very quickly.
When you walk in, to me looks very much like your typical Irish themed drinking establishment. The staff is friendly and the service is prompt. It does seem that a majority of the people who come here all know one another and would appear to be "regulars"—which is fine but could maybe make the average person feel a little out of place. They also feature a digital jukebox which is one of my favorite things to find in any bar.
When all is said and done it's a fine place to grab a drink or two by yourself or...
