5/16/24 -- In response to the owner's comment below: Thank you for resolving this issue. I did provide both my name and my intended gift certificate person's name to your employees. They were not able to locate either of us in your system. I am not sure why they could not do that- and, I am not sure why it took you 2 weeks to respond. You apologized over the phone but make me look like the problem on your response here.
My original comment:
1 star---- I only put this because there was not a "negative 5 star" option.
The employees answering the phone provided good customer service, for the 4 times I called. However, there is no "manager" on duty. And only a "manager" or "owner" (one in the same according to the employee I spoke with) can solve my problem. According to the employees, when I first called on May 3rd, they had contacted the owners. I had not received a call back from the owner as of 5/14.
Which is regarding, a charge that shows up on my credit card bill for this company, for an on-line voucher purchase I made- but never received the gift certificate/voucher. And, I could not be located in their system over the phone by the employees. In addition, the times I called, the employees could also not locate the intended person my gift card was being purchased for. I provided her name- and they could not locate her. They could not locate either of us in their system.
As a result- I was told by the employees that they cannot provide a refund (company policy).
Their owner(s) still have not called me (It's been 2 weeks).
And I cannot dispute the credit card statement for 1 year according to the Credit Card company (Visa). This is because of the 1 year value of the gift certificate/voucher.
Purchase gift certificates/vouchers at your risk.

Read more(This is specifically for the Weirder Stuff room!)
The whole facility has a super cool design and the room we were in looked fantastic. However this room has an element where on top of just escaping, you can do additional things to reach a higher score of progressing in the story and completing more in the room. The concept is interesting but the way they implemented it just isn't working!
You're given an iPad and are supposed to scan QR codes you find and answer quiz questions on there for points. The barcode scanning feature just doesn't work- the room is already dark, and some of the QRs are in unlit spaces or on uneven surfaces, so it cant scan. We wasted a lot of time replaying a video hoping to scan the QR at the end of it until giving up on the third try. It sounded like you were just supposed to scan every code you found for points, but there's apparently were some QR codes that scanning ment you were making a choice in the story happening, which wasnt indicated to us at all. Even if the QR thing works perfectly, why would I want to spend my time in an escape room doing an online quiz on an iPad instead of actually doing puzzles? Because of the ipad distraction it feels like we barely got to do the room (I dont know if the employee was just flattering us by telling us we got farther in than most, but i hope thats not true because it felt like we barely scratched the surface of the room, and if most groups dont make it that far thats a design flaw at that point!). Towards the end we realized how little the ipad stuff mattered and ignored it but we couldn't make up for the lost time :/
If you do the Weirder Stuff room just ignore the ipad as much as possible, it's not worth it. It'd be way better if the facility got rid of it entirely, or if they really wanted to keep it the playtime for this room should be extended to make up for the jankiness of...
Read moreCAN YOU ESCAPE FROM THE ROOM HARRY HOUDINI NEVER DID? You'll have to experience the Houdini Trap Room at the Fifth Wall Escape Rooms to find out!
Fun night out for a group of up to ten! Interactive! Mind exhilarating! Team work! You have to think on your feet and a collaborative effort helps solve the clues.
I’m biased: I’m a lifetime, professional magician. I’m originally from the Detroit area. I have studied Houdini. All these things may have enhanced my enjoinment of the “Houdini Trap Room” escape. But I also believe anyone without the history or knowledge of Houdini will find this a rush and fun to figure out the clues to escape the room.
On June 10, 2018 ten magicians tried to escape from the Houdini Trap room, within one hour. Legend has it, it’s the only room that Harry Houdini never escaped from. You'll have to experience the Houdini Trap Room, at the Fifth Wall, in Ferndale, to find out why Houdini never escaped.
Looking for something different, interactive and fun? Do you like figuring out clues? Do you like mind puzzles? If you answered YES to any of these questions, YOU'RE GOING TO LOVE The Fifth Wall Escape Rooms in Ferndale, Michigan!!!
I highly recommend the Fifth Wall for a fun, and different, night out with your adult friends!
