Cool Cricket — Restaurant in Fieldsboro

It was what I expected. We all had fun. We ordered pizza, sweet potato fries, wings..all food was very good. It made us all..want to laugh, when I asked for sugar for my iced tea. 2x!! . Both times, the waitress brought me a dispenser of (only) those pink packets of generic, sugar substitute. When I asked, if she had sugar..she pointed to the 2 dispensers of the " saccharine" type sweetener.. With her quizzical look, i knew, she was truly confused, when I asked for... 'real sugar',!!! With an honest and totally confused reply..I heard a low, soft voice state, "Miss., This is real sugar".!!.. .At this point. I just didn't know what to do with the situation, so I politely said, "Thank you,".. after she left, my friends were ready to say something sarcastic..but instead, just said.. "well, she's probably young"... I personally, ...just don't ever remember being " that young"! The band was really good. But, the lead singer got upset when a lady, at a table, was looking at something on her phone. He actually went to her table with his microphone and made a point of asking her, "why she wasn't paying attention to him.".?? Honestly, I've never seen a singer be so egotistical as to, interrupt his song, to find out why 1 person wasn't mesmerized by his "average, local bar, band voice"!.. The band was really good. Selection of songs was awesome and some people were dancing. I was just surprised and got defensive 1 woman appeared to be getting bullied. Perhaps, I'm just getting too old to...

I love this place. Haven't been there in a few months due to medical problems but have been going since I moved to Fieldsboro almost 5 years ago. I called December 15th, Thursday night around 8 pm to order the steak dinner for pickup. It's been a few months since I last did. I know for awhile it wasn't available during the Pandemic, but I've gotten it many times over the past 4 years dining in and for pickup. What disappointed me the girl who answered told me it was only dine in and said it has always been that way. That I knew wasn't true because I've done it several times, perhaps a new policy? I know wing nights are like that to get them for 50 cents. I love the restaurant and bar and the food but don't always have time to dine in. So this is a hard review for me, I live very close (currently). Their wings are phenomenal for the price and the kitchen is open till 10pm. I came in at 9:30 after a late night and the wings were just as good. Wings 5 stars, the rest is 3.5 stars. Atmosphere is not for everyone but a good time and the regulars are very nice. Free shuffle board and a few bucks for pool. It is definitely worth trying on a Wednesday or a late Friday or Saturday night as they are open late and know how to party. I’ve come on quiet Sundays and middle of the week, all was well there too. It’s a solid 4 stars overall and that is a brutal review for a place I truly love. edit alcohol is relatively cheap.
