If there is one thing I hate to do, it’s wasting food, sending it back to the kitchen. Equally disappointing is ordering a $37 steak, which is not very often, only to choke it down because it’s not cooked properly. Well, I had a slightly disappointing experience at the Bungalow last night. It was my Wife’s birthday and we went out to dinner before heading out to the casino. She ordered a ribeye, while I ordered the 16oz prime rib. Both of us ordered rare. When our dinner came, my wife’s steak was cooked perfectly, while mine was medium-well. I was skeptical when it showed up, but I thought I would wait until the server walked away before I cut into it. My suspicions we confirmed. Uh-oh… when the server came back, I let her know that “I’m really sorry but my steak was over cooked.” She said, “oh you wanted it very rare”. She asked how my wife’s steak was, and we confirmed that her’s was perfect. She came back a few min later with my steak and told me that the kitchen said that was “as rare as they can make it”. She then suggested that maybe I could switch steaks with my wife. I failed to see the logic in that, brushed it off and told her it was fine and that I would eat it. I already explained my thoughts on the steak, and I didn’t want to carry on the discussion, especially in front of my wife, making it awkward. Needless to say, my prime rib wasn’t enjoyable. Oh well. But then something funny happened near the end of dinner. The table adjacent to us asked about getting a rare Prime rib, to which the same server explained that they are not coming out rare and referenced my situation. I really like this place, and I will continue to come back, but now I feel like I have to be “that guy” next time I order a rare prime rib and say, “hey, is it actually rare because last time I was here…”. I won’t do that but I’ll be thinking it. I just wish between whatever dialog happened between the server and the kitchen, someone would have took responsibility and fixed it. One picture here has a piece of my wife’s rare streak next to my “rare” steak for reference.

The atmosphere here is eclectic. In the bar area it's dark with great tin ceilings and the dining section is mostly wood and very bright.  It mixes into a very inviting environment. I actually came here, heck came to Manistee, because they had a Bourbon Steak! So I ordered the Bourbon Glazed Ribeye ($31) with Mashed Potatoes and Applesauce. While the steak was cooked Perfectly Medium, it was a little bit of a disappointment. This isn't to say it was bad, it was in fact very good, this is sad because I had hope of excellence. Also too much gristle for my liking. That being said the Mashed Potatoes were excellent, in fact my favorite thing of the night. Maybe top 5, I've ever had. The applesauce was good. I ordered a piece of chocolate cake for dessert. It started a little cold for my taste, however as it warmed up it became very good, easily the second best thing of the night! The service was excellent. From start to finish my waitress was great. Overall I'd give a 4 star review! Would I return? Yes, but I'd try something else. Still I recommend giving it a shot!

I had gone past Bungalow Inn many times and finally decided to stop in with a group of friends. We waited for about 5 minutes at the hostess stand and were not acknowledged, even though a couple employees were talking and playing on their phones nearby. We ended up sitting at the bar because there happened to be open spaces. As soon as we sat down a waitress rushed over and asked if we wanted to move to a table. We decided to stay at the bar since we were already there. Once seated, our waitress was fairly efficient in getting our orders in and explaining the menu to us. I decided to get the New York strip steak special and it arrived as ordered. Somebody else in our party ordered prime rib and it came over cooked. It was remade, but we had already finished by the time the new prime rib was served. Overall, I enjoyed my meal, but being ignored at first was not a very good first impression. I would like to try this restaurant again and see if it can earn a higher review rating!

Dined here with my family of 6 today. Staff was very friendly and service was pretty average time-wise. We ordered a Beef Nacho Platter as a table appetizer, and at first our server brought out the wrong thing, a Chicken Taco Salad. She was very kind, and said we could just keep it. The Nacho Platter did come out and it was pretty good, although I would not recommend the Taco Salad as the chicken was unseasoned, there was about 6 chips, and it was mostly lettuce. I had the chicken noodle soup, which was very good, it had thick noodles and was tasty. One additional comment about the soups, another member of my party, saw on a specials board that they were serving Pepperjack Crab soup, and when we asked about it, we were informed they did not have that, so it was a bit odd. I had the Pacific Cod Dinner with fries, which was pretty good, the breading on the fish was incredible, but the fish itself could have been more tender, I also REALLY liked the fries, they are thick and had a light seasoning. A few members of my party had burgers, which looked very big and nice. Another one had a patty melt and said it was good, only that the bread could have been a bit more toasted. Overall, this place was good, and I wouldn't be opposed to coming again, but I think I would try some other places...

Very disappointed tonight! Normally this is our favorite go to place. Been supporting them for many years. Tonight there was a mix up with our to go order and our bill. I called to straighten out and it appeared all was going to be taken care of with a call back after rush hour. When I got the call back I was made to feel as since I received 2 larger steaks then I ordered and that the bill she was reading from didnt say what I said I ordered, there was no refund for the overcharge error. I proceeded to explain that wasn't what I ordered and this was not the only error we also were shorted the salads the bill reads we ordered. Then she says we will make the salads right on your bill when you return🤔🤔 How is your error that charged me an extra $20 going to be made right with giving me my two salads I wanted tonight at a different time??? All I wanted was my refund of the overcharge for YOUR error. The salads missed would not even have warranted a phone call to you. The $69 meal was very underwhelming, but not the point here. The nonprofessional customer service tops all other errors this evening! LOYAL CUSTOMERS ARE HARD TO COME BY!!! YOU SHOULD REALLY FIND A NEW CUSTOMER SERVICE REP TO HANDLE CUSTOMER...
