1772 Rooftop on Main — Restaurant in Fincastle

I met a friend to have drinks and appetizers on the roof, as we thought it would be a fun night. When you walk in, no one was waiting and it took a minute to have someone help us to our seat.

The rooftop is beautiful, but it was extremely buggy. There were dead gnats everywhere and it was a consistent struggle to keep the swarm of gnats out of our food and drinks. But that is somewhat to be expected when you’re sitting outside! Our server took over 10 minutes to come and get drink orders. We ended up doing our complete order at that time. We ordered two apps and two drinks, a Negroni and a French 75. From our spot we could see the bartender googling how to make our drinks which are both fairly common. My friend said her negroni tasted right, my french 75 was on ice and not right at all. I didn’t end up finishing it.

The food was good, and decently priced! I really enjoyed the view and the atmosphere overall.

Our water was never refilled and service overall just seemed very disinterested.

The TL;DR it feels like the food is above what the service is able support. The service should be much more interested and helpful for the type of restaurant they are...

Best place we've found since moving to the area 3 years ago for atmosphere. Whether you dine indoors or on the rooftop, it's more than just a good meal - it's an experience!

We went with another couple for Sunday brunch. The Mahi tacos were delicious (my first time trying fish tacos), and my friends said the shrimp and grits were the best they've ever had. My husband doesn't like seafood or grits, so his choices were limited. My only suggestion would be to add a few items to the menu. The menu prices were reasonable ($18 for my Mahi tacos), and I was too full for dessert.

Our waitress, Sydney, was great - knowledgeable about the menu, just the right balance of attentiveness without interrupting our conversation, and she even heated the cherry pie without being asked to. By the time we finished our meal, there were plenty of tables available, and Sydney let us visit as long as we wanted with no pressure to leave.

OUTSTANDING Restaurant, Food & Service! I drove in from Va Beach to celebrate Father’s Day with my Dad who lives in Roanoke . A friend recommended this restaurant & I was so impressed. The entree’s were excellent & cocktails perfect (pictures attached). The cherry on the top was the entire staff was amazing . We were greeted by a young lady that had a beautiful personality (didn’t get her name but she had pink hair) , our server was Jessie. She was very attentive, gave great recommendations & patient with my dad who walks with a cane. The bartender was Ehro (not sure of the spelling) . Not only were the drinks excellent but very pretty. So good , we ordered another round. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. I highly recommend this restaurant & its worth...
