Well, as my first ever time here... I would totally give those two ladies that aided me in trying out your Mocha Frappe w/1 additional shot a 10 out of 10! My drink was very tasty, but I wanted a large and by the price of it, I was NOT expecting such a very mediocre sized cup (I also ordered a large black coffee, which was very much appreciated by my co-worker (VERY HOT!! lol) but she also wondered why a large coffee came in such a small cup).
And I would extremely LOVE & APPRECIATE it if you stocked some Friendly Farms (Aldi) Coconut Milk and some organic powdered peanut butter (HyVee has this in their "Natural" section on the west side of their interior)!!! The almond milk did the job pretty well, I just really do not want anything to do with any other milk other than my Friendly Farms Coconut Milk... NOTHING quite compares to it! Hands down the BEST milk alternative on the market in taste and my digestive wellness!!! Silk brand unsweetened coconut milk doesn't do the trick at all for me (I have never found a Silk brand (or any other brand for that matter labeled original or sweetened)... I guess I'm just spoiled by Aldi's brand, it is SOOOO TASTY!!! Plus, with all of the research I've done on milk alternatives, none of the other options are as beneficial to our (MY) body's digestion than coconut milk.
The almond milk and oat milk especially have lectins in them which cause many people with digestive issues (like myself - I have IBS) to have unfortunate experiences at unfortunate times!!
Oh yeah, I love the fact that you offer a large variety of alcoholic beverages in your Cafe'... but I did not locate any of my favorite premium Anejo Tequila's (I was so glad not to see any Jose Cuervo in there... lol) or another favorite alcoholic beverage in the cooler area (New Belgium's - Voodoo Ranger /Juicy Haze IPA (in bottles only please)). If you're wondering if I'll be back to Barriques Cafe' in Fitchburg, that's a definite possibility. I refuse to give corporations my patronage, when there are great local places like Barriques Cafe' I can help support with my hard-earned money.
So, in closing please consider all five of my requests...
A large cup that actually resembles a large cup. Friendly Farms Coconut Milk Natural Powdered Peanut Butter for new TASTY and nutritious variations of your current hot and cold beverages to add to your drink options and increased revenue. New Belgium's - Voodoo Ranger/Juicy Haze in bottles please (6-pack or whatever you can find room for in your coolers). Some other options of smooth Anejo Tequila's with character, that are cheaper than your $189 bottle on your countertop near your baristas. Like "Fortaleza Tequila", or "Espolon Tequila" or these other really tasty options... like "Don Julio Tequila" & "Ocho Plata Tequila". All four Tequila brands I mentioned are top of the line brands that I believe any Tequila lover will appreciate you stocking up on.
THANK YOU for all of your time and effort!!! The two ladies that helped me on August 14th, were very kind, quick on the draw, as well as gratuitous & appreciative of my business!! I didn't rate your food as I was only there for a couple of your tasty, caffeinated beverages. Have a great week...
Read moreI'm a bit critical about Cafés as it only takes one bad latte at any cafe for a person to swear off wanting to pay café prices at any and all other coffee houses. So far, Barriques has made my last 4 drinks in a row poorly. Most recently I ordered a large latte with an extra shot, breve with hazelnut syrup and it was so poorly executed I had to add extra milk and sugar just to make it drinkable. When they called my name I was given a bitter cup of disappointment. The milk was poorly textured, as the steamed milk volume didn't fill the cup (at least a full inch of space from the top of the cup, and the foam I got was about half the volume of the latte—more similar to a dry cappuccino, not a latte) and the drink was clearly not stirred after adding the syrup to the espresso. My first sip was just bitter foam. Half and half texturing is easy, so there was no excuse for giving me a cup shorted on milk and so poorly steamed with so much froth. I'm an avid coffee fan, but Barriques just isn't doing the work to make paying $8+ for a latte worth it. This is a training issue and easily correctable, as the barista just plain and simple didn't take the time to make sure the drink they made turned out as it would be obvious to any moderately experienced barista that the drink made couldn't have been good the way it was made. My guess is that the baristas are poorly trained, with too high of a demand on speed instead of quality. I've also heard that at some Barriques they don't offer adequate breaks for the baristas which I suspect adds to the inadequate barista performance. Give a good barista time and the motivation to have attention to detail and these issues will corrected. I blame management for...
Read moreThree coworkers and I went here for lunch just the other week. And I cannot describe how dismayed I was with the overall experience at Barriques. The line was at a decent length and after a solid 8-10 minutes we got to the cashier to order. I ordered the house salad and my other two colleagues ordered the soup of the day and the huevos wrap. My colleague explained that the huevos wrap was very good; however when it was served to her; the corn in the wrap had a distinct brown rotten tinge. My other colleague obtained her veggie chili and it seemed as though it was very dehydrated, dead and tasteless. The side of bread she requested with the soup had a spot of mold. Last but not least, while my house salad looked okay, upon further inspection I noted that my goat cheese had a crusty layer to it; and my greens were dark green and mushy to the touch with the cranberry sauce being very overpowering. The pistachios had no bite whatsoever and felt as though they had been left out too long. Most likely stale. While they offered cafe drinks, we ended up obtaining drinks from the fridge. At least they didn't screw those up? Won't come back here again I'm afraid. We'll...
