Big John Steak & Onion — Restaurant in Flint

I went to this Big John's restaurant recently, June 3, 2024. I went through the drive thru. I clearly gave my order at the speaker 🔊. I ordered the 8" steak & cheese, no grilled onions, no banana peppers and as many sauces that are included for the 8" sub. And a small cup of ice water. The straws they give are super cheap. They are paper straws and are annoying. Big John's can't afford regular plastic straws? Ridiculous! As much as we pay for these foods everything should be spot on. But it is not. I paid for my order, $8.48 then I waited for my order. Upon receiving my order I checked the bag. The steak sub was made properly but there was 1 small plastic container of banana peppers and only 1 red sauce. 1 red sauce is not enough. I requested no banana peppers and I should have been given 2 red sauces at a minimum. That male employee deserves $7.25 per hour. If any employee dislikes there job that much. Then they need to find a new job asap. I give this Big John's 2 stars at best. I've been to other Big John's restaurants and they were good. Don't go to this one on Dort Hwy next to or near to the Machine Shop 👍🏼. They skimp on the red sauce. And if a customer asks for more red sauce they charge extra. That is...

Honestly there's no other way to put this, there is no need to look any further than right here for the very best steak sandwich in our area, hands down! In addition to the food Big John's is the only restaurant in our area I've ever seen that literally must clean their equipment exactly as directed and in the interval recommended. Those who enjoy Sprite will know what I'm talking about when I say everywhere you go, sprite has a mildew taste when it comes out of a fountain. I assume it's because it's sold in low volume and aside from the machines not being cleaned properly, the syrup is also much beyond the expiration date I'm sure. Well, not here!! They have the freshest tasting fountain soda I've ever had. You'll appreciate what I'm talking about if you like Sprite and try theirs for the first time. If you've never been to a big John's do yourself a favor please...

I ended up coming here twice yesterday. The first time was about 2:00 p.m. I got a late lunch for me and my girlfriend I got a steak and mushroom and she got a club. It took a bit to get out food bit worth it. It was amazing. There were two women on shift. They were both polite. Great visit. Around 9 my girlfriend wanted to try the steak and cheese because I had enjoyed it so much. We went back and there were two guys working. The young guy was cool the older one we didn't have contact with. I ordered the steak and mushroom again. I got hee the same without mushroom. I got out food much much quicker this second time. It was horrible. It was very dry and somehow tasted like grease and burn onion. We each took one bite and gave out sandwiches to our dog. So I definitely think it matters what cook you get.
