Sizzle & Fry — Restaurant in Flint

I ordered a cod dinner and several other items including chicken Schwarma dinner, grape leaves, greens, beans and rice, and baklava. After waiting a while ( approx 25 min) despite only 1 customer bring ahead of me when ordering (they had a gorgeous dog and the cashier made sure to take time to go outside to pet ) my order was finally ready: kind of. I was informed that they did not have cod and that catfish ( I do not like catfish at all) was substituted? They also did not give me my grape leaves so I had to return ( After literally walking to the car for 18 seconds) and wait an extra 5 to 10 minutes. The baklava that I was told was so wonderful had no filling so it was just flaky dry crust. The greens and the beans both taste the same really -very bland and under flavored. Maybe I caught them on a bad day, but I will never because I’m certainly not returning to waste my hard earned money on sub-par food and service. The Shawarma plate ( I purchased) was for my brother who I asked to let me know how it was and received no response so I’m assuming it was also disappointing just like my entire dining experience. I actually had to go to Papa‘s drive-through and get some chicken wings just so I could eat...

The chicken had a lot of seasoning which I could appreciate but it was super dark like it was cooked in old grease. I thought I would like the fried dinner roll because it gave elephant ear vibes but it was overly greasy I even tried to reheat it in the air fryer to bring it back to life but I love the concept I think if I was fresh it might have been good. The beans and rice surprise me because they had celery in it which I've never had before and it also had kidney beans those are not a bean I'm used to seeing in my beans and rice. The flavor was great though. The macaroni and cheese was really creamy and had good flavor in the greens had visible chunks of meat in it those were delicious too. Overall I would definitely go back here and try them again on another day this was my first time and I know they're new and they're probably overwhelmed. So this was my first time trying this place. My husband got the catfish and fries which were pretty good and the sweet chili wings were ok as well..But I ordered the 6 pc Jumbo shrimp and made it a dinner with 2 sides and a drink. So I got green beans and Mac and cheese. The jumbo shrimp batter they cook it in was awful and mushy. So I tried peeling the batter off to just eat the shrimp but then I was grossed out after I found out they leave the tail on the shrimp as displayed in picture. Not what I was expecting seeing as this place has good reviews. The green beans were disgusting and so was the Mac and Cheese. I'm glad my husband and son liked their food but this is probably something I will never poor my money into again pricey and I didn't get to eat dinner because I was...
