Jack's Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Florence

We're regular customers of Jack's in Cloverdale Rd, Alabama. We loved their chicken due to their thick breading. But not this time, we went there at 3:30 pm today (2-07-23) my husband had to wait 15 minutes because there wasn't enought left in the tray to complete our order. My husband didn't check our order when it was handed to him because he assumed they cook the chicken in the same way they used to. When we got home & took the chicken out of the box, it was different, the breading was so thin and we were disappointed. If that's the way they're gonna cook there chicken now, we believe we're not coming back there anymore.

In fairness to Jack's, I'm writing another review. The next morning my husband talked to the manager and explain what's going on and she told my husband that they had new crews that time that's why the chicken wasn't cooked the right way and told my husband to come back and she'll change the chicken. I guess the regular crews are in. So my husband returned the chicken he ordered the previous day, and the manager gave us the newly cooked chicken, the breading was thick and crispy like it used to. My husband was happy that the manager took care of the issue, and he even ordered a breakfast to go. So we're giving them a 5 star. The employees are nice and friendly, and the place is clean. So I ordered a meal on the jacks app during breakfast which was a chicken finger meal party pack, which was weird cause I was like it's lunch food, but I ignored it and ordered it cause it shouldn't be on there If I couldn't order it. The meal came out to 11 dollars and my boyfriend went to pick it up and get himself some food. They told him they couldn't make the food cause of the time and that's fine, I was kinda expecting that a bit, but instead of giving me my money back or even offering cash, they suggested he could get another meal for the same price. They suggested the big breakfast sandwich combo and said it was around the same price, my boyfriend agreed since he didn't know the prices and got the large meal with a large sweet tea. He got back home and I looked it up to see, that meal is only around 8 something and I paid 11, and they didn't give him a receipt or anything. I'm not mad about them not being able to make that food, but they couldn't refund us? But instead gives us a cheaper meal then what i paid for? Since opening back up after the remodel there seems to be some issues with the evening shift getting orders wrong leaving out items even running out of condiments one or so night's. Days seem to be doing just fine but once it gets dark someone needs more training in my opinion. 07/08/2021 Went this evening & had to go back because they never gave my bank card back to get it. On top of that they told me they weren't allowed to give out cups of the "secret sauce" (that I get with EVERY order & have ALWAYS gotten since they opened... I get it so often that I had actually got some last night & had some leftover) **EDIT- had to go back after getting food at drive thru window, told me that my card was in my bag with my fries. Checked after driving away had to turn around, called and they told me to come back thru the drive thru to get my card back. Not too happy with the evening shifts around here.
