My wife and I along with our granddaughter went to Cerrito Bar and Grill for dinner on Sunday about 6 pm. When we went it the crowd was ok even though they could have been spread out a little more. After we sat down there was several other guest arrived. I actually counted the guest at 1 time and it was 43 people in the restaurant. Over the 50% allowed by current ordinance. Not only was the restaurant over seated there was only 2 servers on the floor, this created even a more concern as no was getting service so they could leave out.
My wife always as the street tacos there. She ordered them with fresh diced onions (Not grilled). I ordered a combo plate with beef enchiladas. We ordered french fries and tortillas for the grand baby. We waited 45 minutes for our food, everyone in the restaurant when we arrived already had their food. Once it came out my wife's street tacos, were loaded up with raw bell peppers and meat, no onions, we asked for the onion and ask that they be raw again only to get them grilled. My plate came out with what I ordered less the beef. Well it did have about a teaspoon full of ground beef between the two enchiladas. My granddaughter's fries were still raw along with her tortillas.
My wife and I were drinking DOS XX we drank ours and was never offered another within the 45 minutes we were there.
I went to pay for the beers and the server had never rang them into the system. The manager could not understand why I was upset about my plates.
I called back and ask the manager to have the owner to call me last night he never called. I called back Monday and talked with the General Manager and she knew nothing of my visit. I asked her to have the owner to call me only to be told she could not get in touch with him.
We thought that we had a good restaurant finally in Floresville. The two previous visits had been good. But honestly Taco Bell would have blown this place out of town. Then the fact that the owner doesn't even show you the respect to return your call. I asked him to do it before I posted this review. Again very over seated not caring anything about the Covid-19 issues all about the dollar. Then not calling his customer even more proof he/they could care less. Then the fact they are opening a restaurant in San Antonio. Please get your stuff together before you move to...
Read moreUpdate Review(December 13, 2021): I visited Cerrito for the first time in a long time, figuring I might as well give them another shot. My dad likes the place, after all. Turns out they've done a complete 360. Service was experienced and excellent. They made fresh coffee and a breakfast item upon request, were friendly and attentive. Not at all like the old staff. Their chips and salsa come out hot, which is great. Mini-tacos are on par with the other best mini-taco places in town, if not better. Burrito was not skimping on meat, was hot, and grilled. I haven't attempted the drive through again but the dine in experience was superb.
Original Review(2019-2020): I've been in the restaurant once and drive-through twice. Inside the atmosphere is nice. All new furniture. The service was rather attentive. However, the food was not very hot. It also seemed pretty dry. This carries over to the drive-thru experience; the food is always pretty dry. My first time in the drive through I waited 26 minutes for 8 tacos, the eventual excuse being that they had to hand-make the corn tortillas. Probably should've told me it would take that long while ordering. My second time in the drive through, it took over 15 minutes for about the same amount of food. This would be fine, if the items I'm ordering weren't simple tacos and burritos. That, and the cost is medium-high for mexican food...
Read moreI had family visiting from out of town and wanted to take them somewhere local. We ended up at this restaurant. Everything was good, our waitress was attentive and brought a 2nd serving of chips and salsa when she noticed the 1st was running low, didn’t have to ask for it. Then we get our food. Half way through eating, my sister notices something black in her tortilla. I take a look, and a fly had been rolled IN the masa!! A different waitress noticed us talking about it and she comes to grab the plate. I wish I would’ve taken a picture but didn’t get the chance to. We obviously lost our appetites after finding a bug in our food so we go to the counter to pay. While my sister is paying, she told them she wasn’t paying for the taco and all the lady said was “we already took it off” and rolled her eyes as if she was annoyed. No apologies, nothing. We are paying for a service. When said service is not up to par, you apologize, not act annoyed because you were held accountable for your own mistake. We will not be returning and if you do decide to dine here,...
