We came in because we heard about this place on the Floresville Social pages that we follow. Looking at the pictures online everything looked really good. The environment is nice, the music is good. They have a jukebox that plays a little bit of everything. My husband asks for his beer, and I had a mix drink. Drinks are on point. Now for the food. I was a bit disappointed with the food. I got the fish and shrimp tacos, my husband asks for the chicken and grilled steak tacos. In my opinion, the corn tortillas could’ve been flash fried to avoid them tearing so easily. The fish taco was cold and had no flavor. The shrimp had flavor, but was over cooked. I assumed that they were trying to get at a mango salsa on top of the fish and shrimp, but also lacked flavor. The grilled steak also lacked flavor. The only flavorful out of the FOUR tacos we got was the chicken taco. The bacon cheddar fries were good. The kitchen timing for putting out orders needs work big time. While all of our food came out at the same time, there were several tables getting one plate served at a time with as much as 15-20 mins between plates to the tables. One tables pizza took so long they asked for it to go after they had already enjoyed a few of the wonderful alcoholic beverages and shots they offer. For a 16 table top (in the main dining area) and the amount of waitresses the service could have been better. We are not sure what is happening in the kitchen that could potentially work better, but we are not giving up on them just yet. Seeing as how the local Floresville scene lacks a lot of needs for locals to get out and about, we hope to see big strides with improvements to better serve the area from Old 181...
Read moreDisappointed by the quality of food and drink for the price. If you like Philly Cheese steaks you'll like eating here- they seem to use the bell peppers and steak they prep for the Philly Cheese steaks for everything else on the menu. I got a Beer Brat dog that came with peppers that tasted like a Philly (kitchen forgot the mustard on the dog, and the dog came with way too much bread for the brat), and my GF got a plate of loaded nachos with steak that tasted like a Philly. I understand trying to make the most of the ingredients you prep by using them in multiple dishes, but the seasoning and flavor doesn't mesh well for every menu item (the menu is also pretty small). Beer selection is pretty limited, you'll get what you could find at the beer tent of a country fair or small gas station. I got an Old Fashioned that barely had any whiskey in it and still paid 12.99 for it- same price I would pay at a much nicer bar for a much stronger drink. The atmosphere was more of a hole-in-the-wall bar than a restaurant. The place felt a little empty in the dining area in terms of actual decor and tables, but it looked like the outdoor seating area was nice. The entrance is a little hard to spot if it's your first time going in. Maybe it would have been more enjoyable with live music, they have a small stage and dance area but no one was playing when I was there at 8PM on a Friday night. All in all, if you can drive 25min to the Den in La Vernia you'll be getting a much better experience for about the same cost. Better food, better drink selection,...
Read moreUpdate: tried again and this place is phenomenal! Staff is amazingly friendly, atmosphere is so awesome, and food is great! They have completely redone the outside to a perfect family-friendly area with live music and activities for the kids. We'll definitely be going back. Super upgrade! We're so glad to only have had the one experience that wasn't 100%, and grateful that we can still call this place our GoTo!
Our first experience here was amazing! Great service, good food, cool atmosphere. The second experience was not as awesome. Our service was VERY lacking and actually quite shocking regarding the lack of attention. I might go back for the pool table and bands and karaoke, but I'm pretty sure I'll skip having dinner with the kiddos for a while until I can view various servers on different days. I hate to put something negative because the staff on my first visit (a Tuesday) was awesome, but that second visit (Saturday night) kind of ruined...
