Ok so when you first pull up its like there’s nothing around, dead strip of businesses after hours. (Dr offices, realtors) there were 3 cars in the parking lot. I was skeptical. We were recommended to eat there so we decided to keep heading in.
Inside very clean, 3people working. 4 booths and a couple table setups, one huge oven and the back. At this time they serve pizza and pasta.
We ordered the supreme. Pep/onion/green peppers/ mushroom. They hand toss the dough too.
We were greeted by the manager, Tiago, who is from NY and two other gentlemen . They are super friendly and even remembered our friends who were in the other day that recommended them, which was cool. (Customer recognition goes a long way).
We paid and sat down and while we were waiting Tiago brought us some garlic knots to try. The sauce they use is great. Perfect combination of sweet , tomato and saucy! Garlic knots were perfectly cooked.
Pizza came out promptly. They brought it over to us, and got us plates/silverware (even though it was out for us to grab ourselves)
First glance, pizza is HUGE! Crust was perfectly cooked- not hard as a rock but not soggy. Right thickness. Veggies were fresh! Sauce was awesome. You could fold the pizza with ease. Not too greasy but just enough to give that NY style flavor .
I’d recommend this place over other local pizza places such as Antonio’s, 1000% over pizza chains and even comparable to Tony D’s Brooklyn pizza. (I’ll be back to try their margarita pizza for full comparison to them)
While we were eating, Tiago came out and chatted with us. We swapped food experiences etc. he then brought out a Datil pepper wing sauce he makes for their wings, along with a house made ranch sauce to sample. First taste of the wing sauce was “oh this is sweet tasting” then BAM! Hits you with the kick. Paired with the ranch, that also has a sweetness, perfection. A little too spicy for me but those who like spice would probably love it. I’d probably actually try it again on wings . We ended our food experience with some Gelato. Yummy!!!!
Overall I’ll give it a 10/10. We’re going to order pizza for our wedding for the kids from them as well and will definitely be back for more food.
They are working on adding subs, so keep...
Read moreUpdate 06/05/24: I now live in NC and am in town for only a few days. I decided to pick up pizza on the way back to my air BNB and it reminded me of why I love this place. The employees are just so sweet and the canned wine is dope. Purchases the piggy pizza and a pepperoni, and both were prepared perfectly. They smell amazing and the pepperoni's I stole off my sister's pizza were delicious. Please support them however you can. The only other pizza in town I like is five star anytime between 9pm and 3am.
Finally. Delicious pizza that isn't in downtown STA. I will shamefully admit this is our second time eating this in a week. First had a delivery from DoorDash, and went in to eat today as we are now fully vaccinated.
The place is small, clean, and adorable. They have a selection of soft drinks, water, and beer. They might have wine, but I didn't notice. The owner and staff are super friendly, and exactly what you want from a lovely pizza place.
Both times we ordered the Piggy pizza. AMAZING. Delicious delivered and fresh. We also had the white pizza delivered, and tried the ultimate pepperoni in house. The crust was delicious, toppings delicious. My husband, who hates mushrooms, loved the mushrooms. Garlic knots were also very good.
The personal size is certainly enough for two, but why not get one for each person? I am now in love with this place, and am trying to figure out when I'll order again, while my husband is driving home and we have a whole pizza in the backseat. I would definitely recommend...
Read moreI recently had lunch with a friend at this restaurant. We both ordered two slices and a drink, which was the daily special. In addition to that the owner brought by a few bread knots with marinara.
The pizza that we had was absolutely fantastic! Really really good! I ordered a pepperoni slice and another slice with ham and pineapple. Apparently, because my friend requested it, they brushed olive oil on the slices just as they were finishing and oh my God was that delicious. The slices were big and I wasn't even able to finish my second slice.
The bread knots were delicious as well dipped in the marinara sauce. The atmosphere was great. The service was friendly and efficient. We had a great lunch experience here. I will definitely be back. This place is just a little out of the way. If it was on State Road 16 you'd have to wait to have a place to sit down.
One more thing, they have an oven like you've never seen before in here and it cooks that pizza very quickly. Very...
