I went to Church on the Rock hoping to find a comfortable and welcoming place to worship. It’s based at a high school. When you walk in, the doors are constantly opening. So, expect to walk into a sauna filled with people standing around. The auditorium, where the service takes place, is not that much cooler. I brought my water in with me because of medical and obvious reasons. I was approached by a woman usher and told that I was not allowed to have my water with me and that I needed to take it outside, because no food or drinks were allowed in the school auditorium. After walking back from the sweltering heat and leaving my water in the car, I walked back to the service that was taking place. To my disbelief, they all had their communion elements which included grape juice and bread. So water that doesn’t stain and is meant to hydrate is not allowed but grape juice, bread and food...
Read moreSo incredibly friendly! I'm recently moving back to USA after 7 years overseas and travel often for work. I've visited about 12 churches across GA, FL and SC in the last 4 months and this was my favorite. The other thing I'm absolutely impressed by, Pastor Hersey gave a great sermon and I noticed he's using the New International Version translation like me (based on my research the best for American's to understand what God actually meant) but he's also using the English Standard Version and the New Living Translation! Which leads me to believe he does his homework and tries to bring the most understandable Word to his congregation. That's pretty massive. No one does that. Praise this...

The music is awesome and the preaching/teaching is spot on. Pastor Josh delivers a 100% Biblical sermon with total relevance to today. I always come away with a nugget.
