Ive dined here many times. Always loved my food and the service is good for rhe most part , definitely for the prices u would expect more menu knowledge from the server i had the last two times i was there. at least be able to answer questions from the featured menu. They have a Wahoo fish featured and i never heard of wahoo and my friend asked about the fish it was like i was looking at a dear in head lights. But they're always polite and nice I always get the same thing I love the risotto there. And sure enough I got it last night not even a couple minutes into eating my dish I found a hair coming from inside the plate of food and stop eating immediately and asked the host walking by to get my server.. another server came up and asked me what was wrong and I showed him the hair that was sticking out from under my food.. so he took my food away a few moments later my server came up and apologize and joked that it wasn't his hair because he had none. lol. I told its ok. I worked in the industry for 15 years its happend rarely, i was the unlucky one tonight. Ill take a new dish it fine. later the manager came out to apologize and made it very awkward and I felt as if almost hinted that it was my hair as he continued to tell me that no one has hair in the kitchen only the waitresses have long hair bla bla bla.. very unfortunate and uncomforting to read between his lines..and I told him. I said I don't know maybe someone who's prepped your food, ? And he shakes his head "nooooope"...Then I say well all it takes is for someone with long hair to maybe hug the cook who was cooking the food, one of her hair's fell off on him and attached to his clothes and while he was cooking the food it fell in while It was cooking or maybe that happened while the person who was making sauce earlier in the day got a hug from someone with long hair and it fell on him which eventually fell into the sauce . Why do I have to play private investigator with the manager..?? u can see that hair was black mine is brown and my hair was up and I just started eating this food and that was clearly inside my food not sitting at the top like it got mixed in as while it cooked or prepping.. clearing the way its keeps coming out of the food as i pull it. Which I don't feel like I should be having this conversation he saw the food with the hair in it I'm sure.. or at least the server should have showed him... I just felt it was inappropriate and I felt like he was suggesting I had put the hair in the food which I have two people sitting at the table with me.. he them saide either way i have no idea how hair could get in the food and said for sanitation reasons he'll make me another one ...... preciate it thanks.. when he lft my friends daughter refused to touch her food or anything because she was grossed out by the hair and she had barely even touched her meal beacause we just started eating, my friend asked for the manager and told him her child won't eat the food because of the hair on the other plates and she doesn t feel like I should have to pay for this she hadn't eaten anything and now wont now and it's not my fault that she was disgusted by that hair in the food.. the manager didn't know what to say and made it very clear that no one has ever made that request to him before and you could tell he was not happy and said fine and took the food away like he was angry. my food came back I ate and ask for the rest of the box and about four hours later I started to become very sick to my stomach horrible pains somewhere in hour 4 after eating the food i was throwing up my meal I've never had any issues with the food and this was the first thing i eat all day so i know it wasnt something else i ate, I definitely got food poisoning from this place last night I'm still hurting. Naused cant eat soar stomach right now. and I would hate to think that they did something to my food,, but I've seen people do things again I've been serving 15 years. l wont be comeing back after that experience. I don't trust them with my food now after...
Read moreJust disappointing. decided to treat myself to a nice meal after a long week. I sat at the bar to find a very distracted bartender whom was clearly more interested in making a guacamole margarita (or some ridiculous concoction) than serving the random guy that sat down at the bar. The regulars seemed amused and cheered as she mixed and strained a large container of suspicious looking sludge. I found it humorous and asked for a water while I browsed the multiple menus. Great wine list and was surprised to find a multipulciano by the glass. Which I ordered while looking over the options for my meal. there were a few guests around the bar and a seemingly bustling restaurant. I found lots of interesting and enticing options to munch on while i decided on my course/meal. Decided to try an interesting option of fried gnocchi with marinara and a spicy aoli. The marinara was absent, gnocchi was ok. *This dish (actual plate, bowl, setup) never left my place at the bar. * Of no fault of anyone after 2/3 of my glass of wine a random fly landed in my glass I planned on a 2nd (and 3rd) so was not upset however took a long time to get the bartenders attention. She was very busy serving the 3 regulars "to Go Drinks" that at one point the bartender loudly announced how she was over pouring a drink and the gentleman could take it to publix w him. I was out to enjoy a nice evening and see what Bella Tuscany had to offer and thought I would try the "Magical dining" after my gnocchi. this is an amazing option that allows restaurants to showcase their greatest cuisines at a lower price and then donate a percentage to charity! I proceeded to order the bruchetta, the 6oz filet and tiramisu. the bruchetta arrived and was a far larger portion than I anticipated. Too bad it had no flavor and was poorly constructed. bland chunks of mozz and long airy bread that couldn't stand up to the weight of the toppings. As I was eating a man (I assume was the manager) leaned over the bar to speak to the bartender... He loudly let her know he got her 1 day off...and she was clearly not happy. My entree arrived and I asked for another glass of wine. I still had the gnocchi plate and now bruchetta plate in front of me. the Fillet was a JOKE at best!!! this was not a fillet it was a teres major!! I couldn't even cut through it w their steak knife!!! Multiple large tendons running throughout the meat. I foolishly only cut the edge before the middle and said the steak was fine. As i got further i realized the outside was charred and tasted burnt. the center was rare and full off tough tendons. I tried multiple times to grab the bartenders attention to no avail. finally whom I assume was again the manger was now next to the bartender and asked if everything was ok? I said no give me my check. bothe the manager and bartender asked about the final part of my meal the tiramisu (which I paid for) and I just asked for my bill. I paid for everything and tipped the bartender. even though I was lied to and served a meal that was clearly not as advertised. I was honsetly shocked at how I was treated, the staff was treated, the way the staff gave away alcohol and clearly had no interest in a paying customer. I felt everyone was far more concerned with the gauc drink than a guest spending hard earned...
Read moreThis was our first time dining at Bella Tuscany in Windermere, and we had high hopes walking in—and for the most part, the food lived up to the hype. The restaurant itself is beautifully set up, cozy, elegant, and perfect for either a romantic date night or a classy meeting with friends or colleagues. The soft lighting, warm tones, and relaxed atmosphere create a setting that feels both upscale and inviting. The ambiance alone sets the tone for what could be a five-star experience.
Let’s talk about the food, absolutely amazing! Everything we ordered was delicious, but the star of the evening was the massive mozzarella sticks. Honestly, I’ve never seen mozzarella sticks that big and crispy on the outside, gooey and melty inside, full of flavor, and perfectly seasoned. If you go, please do yourself a favor and order those. They’re a must-have!
We also ordered pasta dishes, and again, the kitchen did not disappoint. I particularly loved the seafood pasta, perfectly cooked pasta, fresh seafood, and a savory sauce that wasn’t too heavy. The flavors were well-balanced and comforting. The rest of our table also enjoyed their meals, and everyone agreed that the food was excellent.
Unfortunately, where the experience fell flat was in the service department. Our server seemed disengaged and didn’t come around very often. When I asked for cheese (because who eats pasta without cheese, right?), he returned a while later, stood at the edge of the table and just asked, “Does anyone want cheese?” as if he was offering it randomly, not because I specifically requested it. I raised my hand, of course, but it felt awkward and honestly a bit ridiculous. It’s not a huge thing on its own, but small moments like this can really affect how welcome and attended to a guest feels.
It’s a shame because the food and setting set the bar high, but the inattentive service lowered the overall experience. I wish I remembered the server’s name because I don’t like leaving negative comments without details, but unfortunately I don’t. That said, with so many top-tier restaurants in the Windermere area, service has to match the quality of the food in order to compete. People don’t just come out for great meals, they come out to feel cared for and enjoy the whole experience.
Would I go back? Yes! for the food, absolutely. But I hope management takes a closer look at improving staff attentiveness and hospitality. It’s the missing piece to an otherwise wonderful place. With just a little more attention to customer service, Bella Tuscany could easily be one of the standout Italian restaurants...
