If this is 'the best of Philly' then Philly is one skimpy town. My friend and I ate here a few days ago. First off, when you step in, it's dimly lit and looks like the cramped corner of a dingy truck stop. That in itself is not bad because I've found gems with run down interiors enough times that it won't turn me away. But what follows as you step inside, is a choking caustic grease smoke. I almost coughed like after a draw from a cheap cigarette. And I don't smoke. But I was here for the food, so I endured it. But I did wonder how the ladies worked in there all day. A ducted fan in the kitchen would've solved that. Anyway, onto the food. Ordering from the menu is not confusing as they had some customer favorites as choices. I ordered the 'Florida' with the combo of hand cut fries and soda. My friend had a cheesesteak with onions and provolone. The 'Florida' comes with mushrooms, onions, and sweet peppers. For the cheese, I picked the classic 'Whiz'. Whether this was authentic Cheese Wiz I don't know. We grabbed seats at a table up front and chit-chatted. The food came out timely. But the steak part of the cheesesteak was down right measly. I could easily close the bun and hide the meat. I was kind of embarrassed for the place. My friend and I were on a food quest to find the best Philly cheesesteak in New Port Richey. The sandwich given to me was a strong 2.5 out of 5. My sandwich looked like nothing previously posted online which were sandwiches spread wide stuffed with meat. Also, there was no color. The mushrooms, onions and peppers were all monochromatic with the meat so that I said to the cook 'excuse me, mine was supposed to have the mushroom and peppers' because I was expecting green or red from the condiments. She replied it was in there so I took her word for it. The cheeze wiz helped but couldn't muster the extra .5 to make the sandwich an even 3. But the hand-cut fries could. As a matter of fact, I spent more time and got greater satisfaction eating the fresh hand-cut french fries. The sandwich was average at best but the fries were great. But who goes to a cheesesteak place just for fries. Come on ladies. Don't skimp on the steak because you are after all, offering 'the Best of Philly...
Read moreVegans, if you want to try something different, you are absolutely must come here.for the non vegans I think their namesake should tell you what to order😜. My falafel sandwich yesterday was indescribable delicious. It was generously filled with falafe, salad, flavorful eggplant, and the most incredible tahini sauce you will ever try. The bread was exceptional. I’m pretty sure it is either homemade or special order. Don’t get me started on the eggplant with tomato sauce moussaka, it is pure heaven. You just have to try it, unfortunately there is no word to describe it. The owner were an incredibly kind and professional, the husband even brought something I forgot out to my car. overall, it was a fantastic experience and I cannot wait to go back. Sorry I ate and I forgot to taking a picture of the food, you can...
Read moreMe and a buddy went here for lunch after hearing it was good. The portions were large but thats about all I can say as a positive. Got a philly sub, fries and a soda (The #1 or 2, cant remember, combo on the menu) Which the owner didnt even know what the combo was (on his own menu). The philly was the most bland tasting thing I have ever eaten. Just overcooked meat with some cheese. It tasted like I was just eating "something" but whatever it was, definetly not a philly sub. Not to mention it cost over $20! $20 for one sandwich a side of fries and a soda that was bought from sams club 10 years ago. The whole building was filthy and smelled like year old fryer oil. I also had to hear the owner yelling about not only how great his food was but also his opinions on politics the entire time. Do...
