I give this place 5 stars as a typical American style Mexican restaurant. I prefer authentic Mexican restaurants but they are hard to find. The food was really good. The portion sizes were on the larger size. My Chicken Fajitas had a good amount of chicken. (Some places just give you all pepers and onions and hardly any chicken. But not here) The chicken Quesadilla was grill pressed and the meat had a nice grilled flavor. It wasn't the same style chicken which was in the fajitas. Some restaurants use the same base seasoned chicken but not here. They took the time to cook the chicken specific to that dish. The chips and salsa was good. The salsa is mild and chips were cantina style (very thin and crispy) Service was great. Our server Cala did an excellent job. Very attentive and did extra things to make our night more enjoyable. Our food was on our table with 5 minutes of placing the order. So it sounds like they may have hired some more cooks and ticket times are no longer an issue. It seemed like others experienced longer ticker times when the restaurant first opened. I watched other tables and they got their food fast too. We went on a Saturday night at 6:15pm. They were busy, (not slammed). Attached are a few pictures of the restaurant and bar area. They have a happy hour from 2-5. I'm not sure what is on the happy hour since we came too late. I'd recommend this restaurant and I hope the owners keep up the high quality level of service and food. I've seen other restaurants start to go down hill after the first 2 years. I hope they can keep up the good work for many years to come.

it came back by to get some chils and salsa because I’m pregnant and craving it and they tried to charge me $7.24 for some chips and salsa.I don’t know if they think I’m stupid ignorant whatever the case may be but not paying $7.24 for chips and salsa across the street to Walmart and got some chips and Sasha, whole bag and whole jar for eight dollars now they must think I’m stupid because online and clearly says it’s $5.99 for a small thing of cheese Dip and chips or guacamole and chips so not sure how $7.24 came about for some chips and salsa but I’m just assume that they were overcharged me because I’m black came to pick up an order today as i do uber eats on the side. stood at the pick counter for a good 10 mins and people walked pasted me and didn’t greet me or ask if i needed anything. i don’t think i look scary or intimidating but i suppose so since nobody wanted to help me. i was looking at facebook waiting for someone to acknowledge me.. the lady who walked past me 3 times decided to stop and ask me what i was here for and i told her wish i could have gotten some help sooner usually i order food when i do delivery it’s from one of the restaurants that i pick up from and i was thinking this one but unfortunately that won’t be the case on to the next

This was our first time getting food from here. We got take out, which was done quickly. It was hard to hear the employee on the phone when trying to order. We looked at just ordering online but there were extra charges and opted to just pick-up ourselves. We got the pollo loco and chicken chimichanga meal. The chimichanga chicken was very dry. Everything else with that was just OK. The portion for the pollo loco was generous and taste was good. There should be pico or some type of fresh option added to this as it’s just rice, chicken, onion, mushroom, and melted cheese. We ordered tomato and lettuce on the side because of this and were charged $2 for two slices of tomato and a handful of lettuce (not great!). The chips and salsa were not something we cared for taste wise either. Great service by employee taking care of takeout, triple checking everything we ordered was given to us.

Burnt chicken burnt onions not caramelized, burnt. Same sour sauce on everything. Hard dry crumbly massa on tamale with same sour sauce. Taste like some kind of fake cheddar cheese topping everything. I threw away 2/3 of my meal. The only thing I had that was halfway edible was the chille relleno. And believe me it still wasn’t good, it had some kinda gloopy cheese inside and a weird cheddar tasting blend on on the outside and the same sour sauce , the only thing that somewhat saved it was the egg batter was very good and the poblano pepper inside was cooked properly and not tough. I say this to the owner: please consider using a dash of baking soda in sauce to tone down the intense sourness as well as placing an order for land o lakes extra melt cheese to put inside the chilles and making certain when preparing tamales to mix massa for several minutes maby 15 with lard to prevent dry massa also be sure when preparing grilled chicken and onions it’s imperative to not overcook it. If your having trouble finding a chef that doesn’t overcook chicken maby try lightly seasoning chicken with oregano cumin chille powder salt garlic and onion powder then sous vide at 145 degrees f for 1 hour and then when you have an order heat flat top as hot as it gets, slice chicken, add oil to flat top throw down the slices and hit it with some fresh seasoning same as described above let it sizzle for 30 seconds whip it around 30 more seconds done sauté onions and peppers in the same manner just a bit longer and mix them together. As for the beef enchilada it needs a different kind of sauce called enchilada sauce it’s made by blending tomato onion garlic jalapeño water cumin oregano dried chilles black pepper salt and chicken base in blender until smooth heat oil in pan till it smokes pour sauce into hot oil let it go crazy that’s what you want to make flavor if it needs to be thicker add a touch of cornstarch to cold water add to sauce stir till boil turn off heat add a bit of butter done . Chille relleno needs a similar sauce but again different this one has a lot more butter and less potent flavor to compliment the chille but not overpower it. Salsa was too sweet needs a squeeze of lime and more garlic and cilantro and some more heat. Ground beef filling could use some love as well maby sauté it with some seasoning same as listed above and a touch of oil after you drain it and directly before placing it into the tortilla it will not only caramelize the meat just a bit but will also adhere some nice flavor directly to the meat while adding a kind of pan sauce of meat juice oil...

Big O Tes is the new Mexican restaurant in the old Beef O'Brady's building across from Publix on Nine Mile at Pine Forest. Most of the online reviews are good, but some others were not, so we decided to check it out. We were pretty pleased with what we had. Our server was Mellissa, and although she seemed new and not very familiar with the menu, she was adorable, and went back to to ask about things she didn't know instead of making something up. That's a huge plus! The Mexican Dip with chorizo is the best choriqueso I've had from any restaurant around here. My son said the fajitas and said they were fine, but not as good as El Paso. The chicken looked dry to me. He said some of it was, and some wasn't. My husband had the ordered the Chipotle steak with shrimp added. I tasted it and it was smoky and spicy, the way chipotle should be. Very nice flavor with the caramelized onions and peppers! I ordered the Carnita street tacos. It came with slices of avocado on top. I cut up the avocado and asked for more cilantro because I love a lot of cilantro on my tacos. The green sauce tasted vegetal by itself, but was perfect on the tacos. I added both sauces, and all together it made them excellent tacos! The salsa and chips were good. The salsa was a little on the sweet side, and the chips were thin the way I like them. All in all, we had a good meal and a great time! *I will say as a side note though, and it may not have been them, but we got a call from the credit card company today about one of our card numbers being used on the west coast, and had to cancel the card. We used that card last night and haven’t used it anywhere else for days. We talked to the manager to give him heads up just in case. He...
