I called today at 449 and asked if it would be ok to order ahead and enjoy our pizza there. The young lady on the phone said yes that is absolutely ok but it would be an 1 hr 20 min- 1hr 30 min wait. We arrived at the restaurant at 549 and paid the cashier and she told us it would be about another 15-20 minutes. We purchased drinks and sat patiently waiting. It was loud in the restaurant which is normal for a busy night but I told my husband I thought I heard my name called. We both weren't sure so after about another ten minutes He went up to check and saw we had a box was sitting there. He told the owner we were told it would be ok to order ahead and eat there and the owner rudely said " We don't allow that and we were skipping the line which is comical since we waited an hour and a half and the guests who were walking in were waiting 20-30 minutes. I went back up and told another lady who was also making the pizzas I didn't want it because it had been sitting there and I didn't appreciate the rude customer service. She said rudely" fine" and handed the slip to another young lady who brought it over to the cashier. The cashier was very kind and apologized which I appreciate, but I can't figure out why the owner found it necessary to be extremely rude, but also why it matters if we order ahead. It would be fine if I was told on the phone not to order ahead but I never was told that. The lady at the counter did refund most of my money but its just the principal of it all. Its embarassing to tell us we cut the line and treat us like that. I am not sure why we were treated like this but my only guess is he didn't like the way my husband looked. We walked in and there were three employees at the counter, one on the phone taking an order and it looked like a manager and another employee standing a little ways down the counter having a counseling session that should have been taken place in the back but we waited for a while before someone even greeted us! We waited for the employee taking the order on the phone to finish before anyone acknowledged us. The manager and the other employee were so engrossed in their conversation that they did not even acknowledge our presence. Pretty sad way to start off a first impression to a new customer who has never been there before. So we ordered our pizza and they brought it out and it was less than spectacular. The ingredients were fresh and the pizza looked good however it was almost burnt on the bottom, doughy and gooey in the middle. We were not happy and I asked if this was normal and the response was "yeah that looks about right". They did not seem to concerned that we weren't happy. So apparently if you like pizza that's burnt on the bottom and still dough underneath the toppings and this is the place for you. Because according to them that's about right. Surely with all the positive reviews this can't be the norm for this pizza kitchen, so after a little while we'll go back and give it another go just because of its reputation. They messed up my order, which was not a big deal considering it was such a minor mistake. However, they insisted on providing a gift card for a free large pizza. Not only did I leave with a larger pizza than I purchased, but I also got another one for free! That is enough to make me a loyal customer! Moving forward, I will not get pizza from anywhere else, even if it means driving to pick it up from Black Cat! Sometimes, mistakes are natural, but their response was excellent!
