MY FAVORITE BAGEL STORE IN THE TAMPA AREA. You can see the ovens and prep area behind their counter just like their old-style counterparts in the NYC area. The owner isn't Jewish as the original ones were but his products are deliciously authentic and his staff is helpful and pleasant. You need to get there early because with all the ex-New Yorkers and Northeasterners now living in the greater Brandon area they sell out quickly. My family hails originally from the Bronx and later Westchester county NY so I grew up in the 1960's & 70's going to the bagel store with my Great Grandpa on Lydig Avenue in Pelham Parkway and Koven's Deli in Valhalla, New York ( North White Plains) with my Grandpa and father. I don't know if these places still exist up there but Brandon Bagels reminds me of these establishments. Their selection is terrific including "everything" bagel twist loaves, sour-dough bagels, skinny bagels for low-carbers, various types of cookies and lots of breakfasts including eggs and egg sandwiches. And you can still get a bagel with lox and cream cheese here. They have their own cream cheeses and carry various beverages. Check out their listing on Google...

I had the unfortunate pleasure of driving an hour from Bradenton to Brandon for the bagels. When I arrived it was 11:00am. I arrived to find barely any bagels. I had asked the girl behind the counter if there were any more bagels being made. Mind you the shop closes at 1:00pm. The girl behind the counter responded with a no, stating they were not making any more bagels for the day. How is it a bagel store that is open until 1:00pm and has barely any bagels, has no intention of making any more while you are open for two more hours. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. I have heard so many positive reviews in regards to Brandon Bagels being an authentic New York Bagel Store. However as a lifelong New Yorker that has moved to Florida, it was the farthest thing from the truth. Never have I been to a bagel store that is open for two more hours, to be told there isn’t any more and none being made. I had planned on being a lifelong customer, but after my experience I will never travel an hour out of my way to go to...

We have been going here for a few years now. The bagles, pastry, and cream cheeses have always been very good.

However, there is a female employee that works there and has a very nasty attitude towards us always (mostly me). We are always conscious of those in food industry, not an easy job. I know people have their days, we all do. She is very unpleasant, rude, and honestly it's unnerving. My last and final time I will come here as long as she is an employee. I ordered the same bagel as I do everytime, except this time the cream cheese was bad. I literally was sick from it. I know that there has to be dates on these cheeses and things done correctly, especially with the volume of people that love this place. I felt this was purposely done because of her nasty and rude ways towards us. I hope the owners read their reviews, because I wouldn't want this person as an employee and definitely would want to know what is going on. I'm done being nice everytime we come here, to get treated nasty on...

I used to absolutely love coming here, but over the past two years, I've watched this place I cherished transform in ways that are hard to ignore. It was once the go-to spot in Tampa for bagels and cream cheese, boasting flavors that felt authentically New York in every bite. The strawberry cream cheese? It was a symphony of sweetness that could easily outshine any competitor. However, after my visit today, I’m compelled to say goodbye. The disappointment I felt was palpable; even store-bought strawberry cream cheese has a more robust flavor than what’s being offered now. It’s disheartening to see the quality diminish to a point where even the bigger chains provide a better experience. Please, I urge you—stop cutting corners. Let’s preserve what made this place special. Bring back the original recipes and the heart that once radiated from every dish. It’s time to revive the true flavors and joy that made this spot a beloved gem in our community.

It's where the locals go for fresh & delicious bagels. Forget about the chain restaurants. These are good quality bagels. Go early because they sell out quick. They also make the best olive & garlic cream cheese. They sell tubs of it, as well as many other homemade flavors. It's difficult to pass up. I've had their breakfast sandwiches and the lox & cream cheese sandwiches. I love that they ask you how you want your egg cooked. They even ask you if want salt & pepper or butter on your bagel. Do you want it toasted? They've got you covered. It's all made right in front of you. It's family owned. The service is always great. They even make awesome guava & cheese turnovers. I've also seen cherry and apple turnovers. Check them out if you happen to be in the area.

Came here yesterday for the first time and came back today, couldn’t stop thinking about it. Bagels are fresh and cream cheese is good (they portion it well). Bacon egg and cheese was incredible, bacon was crispy, and it was all flavorful. Also ordered the blueberry bagel with strawberry cream cheese. And an everything bagel with ham, egg, & cheese. Service was really nice, feels like a small town vibe like they already know you. Service is also fast and prices are very reasonable. 10/10 recommend.
