Carne en Vara Express — Restaurant in Florida

Service is non existent, not really important since this is a FOOD TRUCK.

They have lunch specials until 3pm. We got there before 3pm. Attendant approached us at exactly 3:01 and said that lunch had ended. Terrible service. He seemed either tired or he just didn’t care.

Ordered from regular menu. “Full para 2”, order of empanadas and cachapa con Queso. Empanadas were alright, kinda greasy for my taste. Cachapa was good. Full para 2 had RIBS (great RIBS, the only reason why I’m giving this place 2 stars) CHORIZO Sausage (Undercooked) fried yuca sticks (drenched in oil) some sort of coleslaw cabbage salad (was served at room temperature…) and 1 lb of carne en vara, supposedly the signature dish. Not only was this meat undercooked (seemed rushed) but the flavor was not good at all. Probably the cheapest and lowest quality meat, not even SELECT.

Told the attendant that we didn’t like it, and he did nothing about it. Charged us the full amount ($50 dollars) and just took the whole portion back to the food truck. Terrible.

Also $4.50 for a small bottle of store bought “Papelon” sugar cane drink. This place is a fraud.

This is a FOOD TRUCK with food items that are priced as if you were in an actual restaurant. Place was swarming with flies and had lizards running around.

I DO NOT Recommend this place at all. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place...

The food is good but a bit pricey and the service is not great!! You pay and tip before sitting. I ordered 2 sodas and only received 1. When ask the waitress for the 2nd soda she said the person that took your order made a mistake and didn't put the 2nd one so after you are done eating come by the register and pay. I thought it was pretty petty to ask me to pay for the soda when we consumed close to $100 and a 18% tip. I said that to the person at the register that stopped me on the way out and her response was we don't need you to come here anymore cause you are petty.Very Rude! Thanks for your response the response clearly demonstartes to other the type of ownership you petty...

I give 2 because the place was clean. (Blessed the weather). No parking. PRICE: They literally overcharged us without explanation! Each plate was at least $2.00 more than the actual price written on the menu!!! FOOD: ribs were good, however the meat has a certain smell like if it was not washed well before preparing, plus it has not flavor at all, no salt, no lemon etc. Yes , if you ask they give you lemons but meat cook without being seasoned it doesn't taste good. To top it off, the female server was not friendly at all. When we arrived she looked at us with bad face like if she was upset that we arrived. Never going back again. And i will not recommend...
