China King — Restaurant in Florida

This is going to be a long one. My husband was craving chinese food for a few weeks. He doesn't like the places in our town. So we decided to make the drive to Yulee. China King was the highest ratest place so we thought we would try it. Should have kept looking. We had our nephew and a friend of ours with us so we had a variety of food. We had chicken fried rice, veggie fried rice and beef fried rice. The veggie fried rice was full of veggies but no flavor. The chicken one had no flavor and just bland small pieces of chicken. It looked like they were steamed. The beef fried rice had no flavor and was full of onions and what looked like boiled pieces of beef. The texture of the beef was so weird that I took one bite and immediately spit it out into a napkin. The eggrolls had a good crunch but not much flavor. The only reason I am giving them 2 stars instead of 1 is because my husband liked his general tso chicken and the lo mein was pretty good. The chicken for the sweet and sour chicken was fresh and had a very good breading to chicken ratio. Those three things are not enought to keep us coming...

For the price the food is excellent, if you order the right stuff. Sweet an Sour Chicken with sauce on the side is very good, the noodles I've tried are all good, the pork fried rice is very good. Unlike many of the flavorless fried rice I've had at other places, it has been fried right and not just half assed. The eggrolls are always on point, throw some mustard and hot chili oil on it and you got yourself a great eggroll. Eggdrop soup is pretty good, also has decent flavor, nothing extraordinary but it hits the spot. Every single time I've come here the lady up front has been extremely friendly and actually remembers who I am, maybe I go too much, that might be it, but I'll go months without stepping foot in there and she still remembers and is extra friendly. If you're cool with a small hole in the wall joint, then hit this place up. I'm sure if they messed up something on your order, they would fix it no problem, but they've never once messed up my order, and I've been at least 20 times. They are friendly and efficient....

I ordered french fries for my toddlers, a sweet tea, and a small prok fried rice with no onions. The french fries are good and good quantity for price. The sweet tea is good and big container not the kind to fit in a cup holder but holds a lot of drink. The pork fried rice is why im giving a 2 star. There were no onions like i requestd which was awesome but unfortunately there were also no vegetables or eggs at all.. only the pork which the red color of the pork was rubbing off on the rice i am 30 and have never seen that personally 👀 the rice also was hardly fried in the sauce its basically still white.. unfortunately worst experience with pork fried rice 😕 i was hoping woth mixed reviews it would be fine but now i understand why people have said what they said 🤧 the people were very nice and polite and the restaurant was clean.
