China Taste — Restaurant in Florida

I live and work in the area. It's Christmas, so it's the only place really open. I called at 11am to order the lunch special when I arrived I gave them a 10 bill and she gave me back some change but no dollars. I said, sorry, I gave you a 10 and she said , it's 9 dollars. I looked at menu again and said that is the dinner, it's lunch at 6.75. they then said I told them the dinner combo. I didn't and also what was in front of me was the lunch portion, They then said and it's Christmas so it's more money. I said where does it say that on your menu. It does not. I also said, then you need to tell people that when they order. They said their regulars know the prices go up on Christmas. This is a tourist area. I am one of those regulars and I never heard that before. I will not be going back there again or recommending it to our guests. I don't care now about the 2.78 as it's the principle of customer relations and not lying to them and then arguing with them. After telling them I will not be recommending them now they changed their minds and gave me a dollar bill back. I couldn't believe they were still trying to rip me off. Still, about the principle. Advice to them, you must honor what is on your menu not off a whim so please place that 'prices may vary during holidays' at least. OMG Just called and TRIED to place an order to pick up and said I wanted a COMBINATION PLATTER 4 times and the idiot kept saying large or small, again I said a COMBINATION PLATTER and then she said " lunch special" NO what part of COMBINATION PLATTER didn't they understand..VERY RUDE and not nice people...If you don't understand ENGLISH don't answer the phone and take orders..Totally ridiculous......I see why I have never eaten here and never will..UNBELIVABLE!!! If I could give zero stars, I would. First, the quality of the food is sub par. Soggy rice, dry lo mien, breading on the chicken is soggy as well. For the second time, I've called in an order, husband picked up and when he gets home, discover they've taken liberties with the items and how to charge me. For example, I ordered combos, but instead received large orders of both (about double the price). Ordered "lo mien, no vegetables" and I guess they were confused, but instead of asking me to clarify, I received the most expensive lo mien with three different types of meat in it. They'll find ways to up charge you so make sure you're VERY clear. Or save yourself of being in the situation of not even being able to eat the disgusting food and drive up...
