I was so disappointed with the service at this restaurant. & the worst part about it is it was from the OWNER of the restaurant. I am vegan which means I DO NOT eat meat. I ordered three veggie tacos. I was told by the waitress that they came with beans and vegetables. As I’m sitting down and eating I was on my second taco when I realize that I wasn’t tasting beans. So I open the third taco and started looking around for the beans. I thought I had found one under all of the vegetables so I took it out to take a bite of it. Once I bit it I realized it was a piece of MEAT. (I went at dinner time and the lights were very dim in the back of the restaurant) As soon as I realize it was meat I took it to the counter to let them know that there was meat in my tacos. The cashier offered to make me a new taco. I told her no thanks I lost my appetite. She went back and told the owner/cook what happened the owner came out with a very negative energy I could feel and see it on her face before she even began speaking and said to me “two of the three tacos were eaten What do you want to do?” “you should have noticed no beans sooner” “I ran out of beans so I put tomatoes instead” (they didn’t even have the decency to tell me beforehand I wasn’t getting what I paid for). There was more said, but long story short Chula was so hostile and disrespectful, treating me like I did something wrong by eating my dinner and not realizing until I was almost done eating that there was meat in the food. She chose to refund me $3.50 for 1 of the 3 tacos. Honestly it wasn’t even about the money I was just there to support a local business and enjoy some dinner with family and I couldn’t believe the treatment that she had given me. Before this incident happened I had promoted the restaurant on IG and recommended it to several people, because I wanted to support a small local business. The cherry on top of all the hostility was not at one point did Chula (the cook and owner) even say a simple apology.
Edit: On the night of the incident the cook told me it was her restaurant. & on my first visit there the same lady told me it was her restaurant. So I don’t understand what kind of games you are trying to play...
Read moreI came here on a weekday. It was not busy and there was only another person beside me in there. I was really excited to try this place as it has pretty good reviews. But after trying it out, I was very disappointed.
I ordered a raspado and pepinos locos. The total I paid was cheap. I was definitely shocked by that as I’ve been to another place that had the same products but it’s more expensive.
After the lady took my order, she goes to make my raspado but soon after tells me she has no ice to make it. I was so confused because why wouldn’t you?? And why’d you take my order if you didn’t have any?? I ended up getting a strawberry ice cream instead. Which was not even great.
The lady took a while to prepare the pepinos locos. I took them home to eat there and I realized the pepinos had gone bad already and they were soggy. Meaning, they were pre made. The also added too much of Valentina I believe it was in there which ruined the sweet taste.
I guess you get what you paid for right? Which is why I left it at that. I recommend you try...
Read moreMy husband and I were looking for somewhere different to go to for supper. We had decided on Mexican food. I looked up local restaurants that serve authentic Mexican food and found Chulas. They are a locally owned restaurant, and from the pictures online looked worth trying. It was not exactly what we had in mind, but we still had a good experience. It is a small, quiet place. They had good customer service, and good food. They offer more Mexican desserts and snacks than they do meals, but those meals they offered were really good. They appeared to offer more than their menu showed. So if they had a menu with all of their options, then one would know all that they serve. I would recommend anyone to go try them out, because it was an overall good experience...
