I drove by this restaurant with a friend on the way to west palm beach. She raved about it- so had to try! We walked in and immediately was impressed- beautiful, clean and they created the most amazing outdoor space. We were greeted by a very friendly hostess, who directed us to our table. We chose to sit outside- which was wonderful on a cool sunny day. Our server welcomed us immediately and offered to bring beverages. The wine list is very impressive- I chose a lovely sparkling rose from the Alsace region- very delicious. My mom ordered the portobello burger with fries and I ordered the mahi tacos. The portobello burger was delicious (per my mom) and fries excellent. The mahi tacos were ok- felt that the mahi was dry versus moist and juicy. Thinking this may also have diminished the amount of fish- a lot of salsa ratio vs mahi. The manager followed up after our meal I did share the only concern and talked wine (one I missed) she had me taste- a white Bordeaux- delicious! This establishment is a hidden gem. I hope to get back soon.
Update- able to return. An excellent lunch experience! I wanted to try the mahi again as it is typically very fresh. I ordered the mahi sandwich this time- probably in my top 1 or 2 ever! Huge piece of moist mahi. Absolutely delicious! Highly recommend. Mom had the crab corn bisque- amazing! Chicken salad was delicious! Thank you for a wonderful lunch experience! Service...
Read moreWe decided to give Citron Bistro a try for moms 90th birthday. It brought back memories of being told to sit at the kids table on Christmas. Every table in the dining room was setup with tablecloths except ours. First of all, didn't anyone look at it and think it didn't look good. When I enquired about it to the host, he said something about the tables. Not what I expected to hear at all. The waitress did a great job. She went over the specials and had great people skills. I had the Shrimp and grits which was a big disappointment. The shrimp were chewy and it was extremely salty and buttery. I just had them pack it . The breading on the fish and chips was heavy and soggy. Everyone else enjoyed there entrees. I was quite surprised that management isn't introducing themselves and visiting new guests. The weather wasn't great and the place was maybe 25% full if that. When we made the reservation, we were advised that there was a $3 per person plate charge for cutting a cake. We were told many places do it but said they would pass on charging the extra $27 for 9 of us plus $5.40 gratuity so $32.40 to cut a cake. We decided to have it home so we could relax for a bit. I really was surprised that there wasn't anything done by the restaurant to acknowledge moms 90th birthday. The place wasn't packed with a line at the door with people waiting to get in. I didn't get the feeling they cared if we came...

From the food to the service everything is on point. I almost never try a new restaurant for the first 2-3 months so they can work out the growing pains, but I decided to roll the dice with the lack of local options. I am sure glad I broke my rule. The servers are attentive, kind, outgoing, and well trained (no reaching across patrons to serve food or pour drinks, mindful of everyone’s drinks and food (refills/plate clearing/boxing food togo), etc.) They actually care about your experience, unlike some of the competition in the area. The food is fresh and made with love (very flavorful, real ingredients, well plated.) The portion sizes are great! It’s a nice change of pace from the norm around here. Absolutely recommend if you truly enjoy good food.
I wish you and your team all the success, I can’t wait to dine...
