WARNING- do not eat here. I asked for sweet tea because I’m from the south and the waitress had audacity to bring unsweetened tea. How dare she! Does she not know how offensive that is to us southerners?! But I’m not done yet, that’s not all, not even my a long shot. Also, when my sister was ordern her drink she asked for “coke” and they lady said “alright” and then my step mama said “do Yall have Diet Coke?” And the waiter said “no we ONLY have Pepsi” and I don’t like Pepsi! anyway, we saw a clear fridge SLAP FULL of cokeacola and even DIET COKE. Next, we ordered are food and I got a hot dog. The hot dog came out burnt- it was literally black and when I was about to put some good ol’ mustard on my hot dog, THERE WAS NONE! There was ketchup but no mustard to be seen. So I politely asked the waiter for some mustard and she said “ok” and brought me mustard and it was only HALF FULL! I am very disappointed in this place. And then I went to put my mustered and ketchup on my hot dog both were more liquidy than normal and I think they diluted the sauces with water! And that’s not all, I got some tater chips with my hot dog and some of them were green, purple, and black and that just ain’t right. I tried to eat one -out of the two that were messed up- and I just about broke my toast buds! It tasted TERRIBLE! After we ate our horrible food, we went to take some pictures with the beach backdrop and a big Beach chair. The ocean background wall had a HUGE ping pong table infron of it and no paddles to play and that stopped us from being able to take some good photos. Next we went to the giant chair and it was BLAZEN HOT! I was burning my skin. It was also very high off the ground and not easy for an older lady to get up on it AND it was unstable! How do they expect you to get up on that thang it’s so unrealistic. I am very disappointed never coming back. Also, my sister said that her French fries tasted weird and I tried em and I...
Read moreWe stopped in for a late lunch. This place is located right on the corner of US1 and where you come in or go out to I95. The majority of the staff was indifferent to our arrival. There is plenty of seating outside in the massive, late summer heat and humidity. A live guitarist was playing on this Saturday afternoon. The place is old and in need of major restoration. It may be an old neighborhood hang out for tourists, and that's exactly what it looked like. I ordered the 'special' Fish (Cod) & Chips for $18.99. No price listed on the card, although other specials did have their price listed. It was fresh and covered in a crysty-crunchy crust. I asked for an alternative to French Fries and chose their cucumber salad to their fruit cup, no mention whether it was fresh fruit or otherwise. It was old and tired cucumber slices pickled in brine, inedible, with a few tiny shredded carrot bits for color. Their cole slaw was pretty much the same. My lunch mate ordered the chicken sandwich, and it came on a hamburger bun, which came with fries. It's was a bit dry, but he ate it anyway. We asked for mayonnaise on the side and were upcharged $.75. I found out when the bill came. I joked to the cashier about it, and her response was, "Well, WE buy the mayonnaise, don't we?" I asked if there would be a credit for not using the ketchup, but she didn't think it was funny. I would pass this place any day off the week for the Wendy's...
Read moreFirst lunch there today - totally intrigued by the history of the restaurant, the website menu - so decided it was a must place to go. The staff was awesome, no wait time, so here we go. The surface of the table was a tad bit sticky, but it dried up within a few minutes. Our server said that glass had been ordered to eliminate the stickiness that customers could feel, so I hope they do that sooner than later. It left a bad first impression. The website was so impressive that we weren’t afraid of the food, we excited ordered from hamburgers, ribs, to salads. Sadly, the food was dull, ribs were full of fat, hamburger was bland, and crab appetizer was salty beyond words. The exceptions were the salads and French fries. The salads were cold and crisp and the french fries were warm and crisp. Both were perfect. Soooo, let me tell you what else was awesome. The staff. Pleasant, hometown, amazing and dedicated to Harry and the Natives. And I would be too, if I’d open on in 1941, when Pearl Harbor got bored. (Yes, I’m old and patriotic.) My recommendation is to go, visit, have a beer, glass of wine, some French fries and please tip the server very well. The place rocks, It’s iconic, the walls are decorated with funny sayings, art work, well everything. The food needs improvement, but its a fun place...
