Don't bother going. I had been losing faith in Denny's for awhile, but today sealed the deal. It took three hosts to figure out where to seat a party of five, even though I from my vantage point could easily see four different places throughout the restaurant that would have accommodated us. It took fifteen minutes to get our drinks, another fifteen to actually place our order. My husband's drink didn't come until about ten minutes after everyone else's. When we were seated, I asked for two kids menus, but was told they ran out. Another family was seated next to us about thirty minutes later; magically, they had kids menus. Based on how service was going, we started a timer on the phone to see how long it would actually take to get our food. A full TWENTY-SEVEN MINUTES after we started the timer, the waitress came out to inform us that they didn't have our appetizer in stock.
At that point, I was completely and utterly done. I told the waitress never mind, to cancel our order and bring our check. She came back, with an attitude like the whole thing was /our/ fault, and dismissed us with, "I gave the manager the receipt. She said you can leave." Seriously? Seriously? You spent almost a full thirty minutes before telling us that our appetizer wasn't even there, and it's somehow /our/ fault? We never even got a whiff of our food; the bottomless refills of coffee? Nope. Refills for my water? Forget it. We were there a total of one hour, and had exactly one round of drinks to show for it.
We weren't the only table having issues. We saw a member of the kitchen staff bringing food out to the tables, not the waiters or waitresses; I could even overhear the kitchen staff making comments about how bad the service was. (Real professional.)
Don't go. Every time I've given them the benefit of the doubt, both at this location and the Davis Highway location, there are issues. The food takes forever; when it arrives, it's lukewarm at best; items are missing; dirt and other contaminants on the plate. Save your time and money, go...
Read moreThis place is always empty literally a table or two yet they never have my online order done, 3rd time which is why I'm writing this.. I put in an online order at 11:22 pm had the pick-up time for 11:45. I get there at 12. I walk in there's about 3 tables nobody up front and 3 people waiting to get food up front. The waitress walks over to give an order to another person and asks me if I'm dining in or to go, I tell her it's (to go) and I had an online order and my name. she says ok, 30 mins go by nothing.. I'm like, ok, well I was already 15 mins past pick up.. so I stand up again look around there is only 2 waiters and people cooking but only seeing one waitress walking around. She finally comes back up to me and says they don't even have my order, am I sure I ordered at the right place, by now I'm getting mad because I've been here now almost 45 mins and over an hour past the time I ordered and was supposed to be ready.. I proceed to show her my email with my order confirmation and tells me well I'll call my manager, I tell her ok do that, the manager walks over and asks us about the order, I show her the right address and that we ALREADY paid, she says we'll I guess we can refund you And gives me an excuse on people putting in orders at the same time .. any who .. long story short don't do (to Go orders ).. and they need more staff at night there's a reason they are 24 hours everything closes at 10 so people will most definitely be piling in between 11pm and 7am they need atleast 4 servers and 2 cooks at night and a hostess not taking away from the waitress who needs to be getting orders in and out and they need their own designated to go order server..again NOT the waitress who keeps being pulled away from what she is supposed to be doing.. poor management schedule more people or just close they hell up like the rest of...
Read moreI've come to this Denny's a number of times over the years. And the feeling of walking through the doors for lunch, dinner, or a midnight rabble always makes me feel the same. Like I won't be bothered, judged, or hassled. It's like visiting home after being gone for so long. The employees may have changed since each precedeing visit, but they never fail to welcome their customers like a regular who just made it back from a trip. The atmosphere is plain. Like a diner should be. The lighting doesn't make dining in uncomfortable, and even makes things better for those of us whole stumble through the doors needing to load up on carbs after a night out doing whatever things we do. The food has always been wonderful and freshly cooked. Attention to detail has always seemed to be a proactive choice on every chef's check list. To this, I can't ever say I've been displeased with a dish. No, the loss of a star is a silly reason, but one close to my heart. The menu doesn't often change, nor does it need to. But the loss of the one measly star here is due to the loss of one major menu item. The Belgian waffles made here, and at many other Denny's, having been removed was like a swift kick in the gut. That dish alone was a staple and one full of fond memories that kept me coming back week after week. Now I trek through their doors once every few months at best.
Otherwise, all else aside, this particular location has been like a restaurant haven in terms of a good and nutritious meal that almost taste like it's home cooked. The service has always been top notch, as well as friendly and personable. I feel I can talk with them about nearly anything, like they're an old friend. And the diner has always been clean and easy on the eyes. Making a simple trip one that can be enjoyed in solitude, or by an entire group. Family friendly and ready...
