We discovered this gem on New Year’s Day 2021 and have been coming regularly for a year. We’ve brought friends and family have none of us have ever gotten anything less than stellar food! They serve Lavazza coffee (YUM) and my go to is the smoked salmon plate. Coming from NY, I can tell you their bagels are pretty legit (obvi get the everything bagel) and I would never ever get the amount of salmon I get at EAB for the price I pay. We always get a box of the amazing pastries to bring home. We ended up here the day after Christmas and people must have really lost their holiday spirit early this year - we saw two diff tables complaining about pretty mundane stuff. You could see the cafe was busy and we heard multiple servers say they were short staffed. The food has ALWAYS come out super fast every single time we’ve been here, so I wasn’t worried if we had to wait a little longer. Except we didn’t. We were still served just as quickly as we always are, and checked in regularly, so I was very surprised at the complaints. I’ve been in the service industry my whole life, so I know better than most that the customer isn’t always right. While in line to pay, a customer was berating the cashier (a server) about how long they had to wait for food. While I don’t know how long their wait had been, the way she spoke to the server was downright rude and unnecessary. To my surprise, one of the owners stepped right up and strongly, but not rudely, let the customer know that their servers are already picking up the slack where they can. I was incredibly impressed with how she backed up her employees while remaining professional. We absolutely love this place and will continue to tell our friends and...
Read moreThe sandwich I got wasn’t great (chipotle turkey panini) I can make a way tastier panini at home to be completely honest, just some constructive criticism. The chipotle sauce was missing and it was super dry. Couldn’t eat it. There is a large variety, I would come back to try the breakfast.
When we(husband, son, and I) got here we had the side back area all to ourselves which was cool, although we don’t mind sitting near kind people but unfortunately some regulars (3 older men) came in and decided to sit right in front of of and one of those men right as he was sitting gives my 1 year old son a disrespectful death stare and loudly says “I hate sitting near children!!”) it was super uncomfortable and completely cut me off from the sweet time we were having…. I know this is not the restauraunt fault or problem and I get some people don’t like children but there’s no need to be rude- just sit somewhere else…. I know they were regulars because the waitress immediately brought out their drinks as if she knows what they usually get. It just gave me a not a children friendly vibe. The sad part was he was being so good! It was great vibes but as soon as I heard that very rude comment my energy changed, and unfortunately my son feeds off mamas energy so he started becoming uncomfortable and uneasy and it just ruined our time completely. Kindness goes a long way….. those comments and stares scare new customers away. I would tell your regulars to be a little kinder and refrain from making others uncomfortable like if they own the...
Read moreUnfortunately, our visit and our breakfast was a disaster. Our first server had a bad attitude. She took our order without a friendly word and very bored. We ordered 2 croissant sandwiches, a breakfast bowl, extra sides with breakfast potatoes and toast extra crispy, well done. Plus 2 cappuccinos. The cappucino and really the whole meal was cold. The egg in the sandwich tasted and looked like powdered egg. The breakfast potatoes were cold and didn't taste like anything because they were only small boiled potatoes without any additives such as bacon, onions, etc. the ordered well done toast was just as cold and not even remotely toasted. the breakfast bowl contained a strawberry, believe it or not, and this was inclusive the crown. This breakfast was probably the worst breakfast I've ever had. then at least a friendly server came and asked if everything was ok. I shared my opinion with her and she said she would speak to the manager whom she could not reach. I actually expected that they would not charge me for this nightmare breakfast or that they would serve the food as it should be. hot and tasty and with neatly sliced strawberries. Instead they took the 2 cold cappuccinos off the bill and I paid $47 for a nightmare breakfast. It is very sad that I have to give this bad review because I had breakfast there before the kitchen was renovated and was always very satisfied. With the new kitchen, however, a new kitchen crew has obviously come and the quality of the...
