El Perico Taqueria — Restaurant in Florida

Ok so I want to start this review with saying that the only guy at this taco truck who was cooking and being the cashier is a hard worker and he was cooking up a storm trying to keep up with a long line of orders. I tipped him based on that alone and you can’t take that away from him. But I did have to wait outside for 30-40 minutes in the hot sun for my food. Was never told a wait time so I could be prepared for it and they also only take cash.

With that said, this has to be the worst Mexican food I’ve ever had in my life. I had chorizo and carne asada tacos along with an al pastor burrito. The chorizo in the taco was disgusting, it was burnt to a crisp and had no flavor to it. It was like eating the burnt crispy pieces left behind in a pan that have been sitting there for hours. Next, the carne asada tacos were not disgusting but just had no flavor whatsoever. On to the al pastor burrito, it tasted like if you took beef and strained it through paper towel in a strainer and then ate that paper towel soaked in the grease. It was the most disgusting al pastor I’ve ever experienced in my life and is an absolute disgrace to even call it al pastor. It had no hint of flavor of al pastor at all it was just greasy greasy greasy pork with a little bit of tomatoes, lettuce, and cheese. I am in absolute shock that it could be screwed up that badly. My wife had the same burrito and her opinion is literally the same, we couldn’t finish it had to throw it out.

To top off the bad food it was served with a lemon and not lime. We are not on a shortage of limes so I’m not sure why you’re serving it with lemons. In the picture I posted along with this review you can see how badly the...

I called 20 minutes ahead of time to place an order, and when I showed up to pick it up I stood in line for an additional 15 minutes. The order meanwhile hadn’t even been started yet. The owner claimed he was too busy to start the order anytime in the last 35 minutes and I told him to cancel it. The worker never apologized for running behind or not even starting the order, he lied about it being “almost ready” and only came clean when I specifically pointed out to him that he had not even started. HORRIBLE customer service.

Also, the inside and outside of the trailer is absolutely filthy and I for one am glad that the food was not ready. Someone is going to get sick from eating food in this highly unsanitary environment. HORRIBLE cleaning and food safety standards. This company should be ashamed...

Welp! I love trying new places especially Mexican food so I can have a variety of spots when I’m craving a good taco, this place is not one of them. I got the pork tacos and it’s practically flavorless and makes me want to cry 3 tacos 4.50 and it wasn’t worth it. If ever you’re in Zephryhills try out “Taco De Oro” it’s one...
