DO NOT GO TO FRANKāS!!! I just got home from my second visit to Frankās and while the food wasnāt hot, I am certainly hot under the collar now, after the way my dinner companion and I were treated. Dinner entrees were lukewarm and arrived only one minute after the salads were served, and a few (3-4) minutes later our waitress returned with our check, because she said was so busy she did not know if she could get back to us. There were no drink refills even offered. We had been told on one prior visit that the band on Friday and Saturday nights started about 6:00 pm, so when paying the bill the cashier said he thought they would start at 7:00 pm instead, they actually started closer to 7:30 pm, but it was the only pleasant part of this evening.. After paying for our meal we moved closer to the bandstand, where we had no service for about 10 minutes, so my friend went to the bar to order a Strawberry Margarita and asked for a diet Coke refill that was never offered in the dining room. The bartender said she could not provide the diet Coke (a waitress would need to get that). About 7 minutes later the bartender placed a drink on the bar without a word and a few minutes after that placed a soft drink next to it. I went up to the bar and inquired if the Strawberry Margherita was ready and the barmaid informed me that the 2 drinks sitting there were ours and presented me with a check for over $10, when at the same moment one of the waitresses brought another diet coke as a refill. The Strawberry Margherita was not a frozen drink but came topped with whipped cream. My friend was not happy receiving a Margherita of any kind with salt and whipped cream, so she took it back to the barmaid and said that she had never heard of serving a Margarita with whipped cream. The barmaid argued with my friend saying that she āpretties up all of her cocktailsā with whipped cream and if my friend did not like it she would take the whipped cream out of the glass (after it is already dissolving into the drink). No other remedy was offered and we noted that the Martini at the next table did not have whipped cream to pretty it up, so we asked to see the manager to straighten this out. My friend returned to the table with this Margarita and kept trying to drink it, while I waited to see if the extra soft drink charge could be taken off the bill. We could get no service. Finally, we got the attention of one of the waitresses and started to explain the problem, she immediately became very hostile and exasperated. She grabbed the check and deleted the soft drink charge and emboldened the cocktail charge of $7.00 in red ink, threw the bill down on the table and we again asked to see the manager on duty, to which she replied that isnāt likely. After waiting for about 20 minutes we again tried to speak to the bartender who continued to insist my friend was in the wrong, stating nastily, you must have thought it was good, āyou drank it, didnāt you.ā Then she said I would have remixed the drink but you didnāt ask me to. My friend should not have needed to ask for a remix, it should have been offered, so we again asked for the manager. Finally, a while later, I asked the cashier if we could speak to the manager. The cashier returned several minutes later and threw $2.50 on the table telling us the manager sent it to apply to our drink bill ($7.00) one last time we asked to speak with a manager or owner and when no one would speak to us we left. I informed the cashier that the disputed bill and the $2.50 he had thrown on our table were still there, and that we would not be back. After my first visit I had high hopes for Frankās filling a need for a budget friendly restaurant that catered to an over 50 crowd with their music and available dance floor. After being treated like trash by the employees and disrespected by the manager, I will NEVER return to Frankās and I will tell everyone I know (and I know a lot of people) about this disgraceful experience and warn them to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent here tonight with my elderly father and my teen son. The front entrance had steps which my dad canāt do but we located a side entrance with a ramp. They saw my dad and sat us immediately at the nearest table. Very considerate. There was a live band playing that was very loud and made conversation difficult. The singer was good though.
The salad before the meal was a plate of lettuce and two small grape tomatoes and two large slices of cucumbers. Thatās it. I donāt know why restaurants are only giving two small tomatoes with salads these days but it seems to be the norm.
I ordered the Fiesta Chicken which was excellent. The bacon was perfectly cooked and not crispy. I also had mushrooms (they were chopped and not sliced) and hush puppies. The puppies were outstanding! Absolutely the best Iāve ever had and Iāve had them from all over.
My son had the soup of the day (chicken noodle) and he said it was good. He also had the blackened fish which he said was very delicious.
My dad ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. He hated it. The sauce was lousy. I even tasted it and it was completely unseasoned crushed tomatoes. He said the meatballs were good. We brought it up to the waiter and the manager that the sauce was gross. They both agreed and said they donāt eat it. Supposedly itās unseasoned for older clientele who canāt have salt. I get that, but garlic and onion are a must for sauce. Sauce needs seasoning. Our meals included a small prepackaged cup of vanilla ice cream.
Iāll definitely come back. Just be forewarned about the spaghetti sauce.
Other diners seemed to enjoy their all you can eat fish and chips, which looked good for next time.
Oh, and the prices were great. Most expensive items were...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI used to LOVE going here, but the last two times I've gone have been horrible. The last time we had a new server so I expected it to not be the best service and I bit my tongue and dealt with it. Keep in mind, this was about 3 months ago. When we went today, however we had the same server today and she was worse. She was incredibly forgetful and took so long to order. She cut us off in the middle of ordering so she could run another table's food. She said that we have to ask for our dinner roll which we pay for when we order a dinner, but unless we ask for it, we won't get it. She brought out one appetizer first. Then my salad and my fiance's soup while my mother-in-law still hadn't received her soup. Then she brought out the second appetizer, then her soup, and about 20 minutes later brought us all our food. Unfortunately, I wish the service was the only thing wrong today. The food for some reason was terrible as well. I ordered the stuffed shrimp which is shrimp with crab meat stuffing and supposed to have like a garlic sauce type stuff on it. It always came on it before. When I received it this time it did not have the garlic stuff. When I asked about it, she brought me out garlic mixed with butter. My mother-in-law's chicken cordon bleu which was nearly burnt and had mashed potatoes with gravy that were cold and the gravy was hard. When the food was all brought out to us, it was already luke warm, almost cold. By the time she brought me my garlic stuff, my food was already cold.
Long story short: Terrible service, crappy food. Will try again and hope for a different server and hopefully this was an off day for the cook, but that will be...
