Gomez Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Florida

It really pains me to give this review. Gomez is a Restaurant rebrand from Patricia’s. They had really turned it around and the food was very good: new chef, wait staff was attentive and friendly and the restaurant was very clean - I have tried 80% of menu and they were really excellent. Not only was the food beyond delicious but the portions matched what you were paying for. Nothing like Patricia’s. Well then I noticed 2 weeks ago that the 2 entrees I ordered to go were not of the same Ingrediant quality or quantity. Okay maybe they chef was off and whoever filled in forgot how to make a couple of items. The. I took my friend there this past Tuesday to order 2 burritos. Not only was it 85 to 90% rice, there was minuscule amt of beans, onions, tomatoe, cheese & sour cream - NOTHING even remotely similar to the other burritos I had bought there ip until a month and a half ago - I hope they read this and Gomez doesn’t go back to being the Patricia’s restaurant—. Wait staff was still friendly and efficient and the restaurant was clean …the margaritas were...

One server did it all! Hostess, server and clean up. As busy as it was she was friendly and attentive. I ordered coffee but first came the homemade chips and mild salsa that were both great. The ☕️ was served in a cute pottery jug. The menudo came hot with all the fixings served in traditional glazed plates and bowls. Everything was pretty decent however I think the manuto could use a little work it was a little oily, did not have the flavor I was looking for and the tripe was a little overdone. Still a very pleasant experience. Just a personal note, I love the table tops. They're festive and they're covered in hard plastic like my grandparents couches lol

Update! I got my bill and it was $27.81 for one bowl of menudo and a cup of coffee which I think is quite outrageous. They actually added a 20% gratuity. That's normally what I tip but what happens if I was not happy with the service? So now that left me feeling like I was taken advantage of. Menudo was not on the menu so I had no idea of the price. I just ordered it. I've never paid that much...

Avoid at all costs. Refund refused. I spent $19 and waited 24 minutes for 2 plain bean burritos with just beans in them. When it comes out they have cheese all over them and includes a side of beans and cheese which I didn't want. I go tell them this isn't what I ordered and I wanted a refund. The owner came out advising me to never come back and that me ordering take out from her restaurant and them getting the order incorrect was my fault. I was advised by another employee that their beans have cheese in them organically so them not advising that to begin with was ridiculous. The owner advised this transaction is costing both of us. I said its costing me $19 and you 2 tortillas with beans. I can tell the owner must be new to business to refuse a refund when this was 100% their fault. I guess the $19 means a heck of a lot more to the owner than myself. I even tipped on a to-go order I placed at restaurant myself!...
