We felt so unwelcome, that we decided to leave, seeking solace in Sprouts right across the street!
My colleague and I entered this buffet style restaurant, full of anticipation for a healthy meal, but our experience turned sour when we encountered the person plating our food, the manager or owner, who not only displayed inappropriate and disrespectful sarcasm towards my colleague by treating her like a child, but also treated us like an utter inconvenience. His demeanor lacked any hint of kindness, making us feel like we were bothersome nuisances. My friend calmly expressed her displeasure with his comment when I joined her at payment.
Rather than a simple apology, he decided to escalate the situation by attempting to justify his offensive remark with absurd theories.
The situation took a darker turn when he approached us at our table where we were quietly having our meal. I thought he was going to apologize, but no, he continued to try and justify his actions, also used intimidation tactics to make it clear that he didn't want our money, not just today.
It was the most unfortunate and unprofessional dining encounter I have ever experienced.
Our staff, customers, friends and family will now make Sprouts across the road the new go-to place for lunch, where we discovered a vastly superior selection of fresher, cleaner and much more affordable food; a more pleasant and hygienic dining environment, with free power outlets for charging at most tables.
UPDATE: I find it regrettable that the owner or manager, in his response to this review, twisted the sequence of events that unfolded that day and wrote inaccurate statements in response to my review. No staff members were present to witness what transpired. In response to his continuous defense of offensive remarks, I used a single strong word, which he misquoted in his response to align with his version of events. Contrary to his claim, our visit lasted much less than an hour; we promptly departed after he expressed our unwelcome status. As a person who values cleanliness and hygiene, I ensured to leave the table impeccably clean. While I appreciate his apology and handshake, his distorted reply, reminiscent of our unfortunate encounter, deters us from accepting his offer to revisit the...
Read moreI use to love this place but recently I found two pieces of an earring in my food. A cheap Rhinestone and needle. I had give the food to my dad he almost choked on it. Thought he had broken his tooth and then spit that out. I called and let the manager know I was very nice on the phone. She said she’d reimburse me for my meal and that there would be a gift card up at the front with my name on it for my next visit. I was a little nervous to eat there again but I went because she had politely offered a gift card and i thought. We’ll she’ll definitely give the girls a talking to about how they handle the food….when I got there about a week later I ordered food for me and my boyfriend. Explained the situation and told them my name. “The manager said she’d put a gift card up here for me.” The guy- who had AirPods in mind you which is a health violation because I just saw him cooking in the back- looked stumped- said he’d check the back. When he came back out he made no eye contact with me and purposely never came back over to me… so I payed $32 for the meal because the other girl up at the front acted very annoyed that I was standing there and was sure to let me know there was a line behind me. As we sat and ate our food I couldn’t help but watch the staff…ears full of earring and AirPods. Hair down in loose braids hanging over their shoulders as they scoop out the food. Touching their hair with their gloves and just continuing to use them. No wonder the earring was there… that place is gross. And my boyfriend is a health inspector and pointed out like ten things before we left that we’re not...
Read moreEdit-this is for the Gainesville Florida location, for some reason it won’t let me fix that... I’ve been here three times now, and I won’t be back. The first time was wonderful for our entire group of 5. The guy who served us was informative about the food, and even though there was a large dead palmetto bug in the dining area inside, (lol it’s Florida...) everything was great. So great I returned the next week, and had a horrible experience. The woman behind the counter paid no attention to what I was trying to order, didn’t give me what I asked for, and was generally unfriendly. The supposedly hot food was cold and the portions seemed skimpy compared to the time before. (Except rice, they’ll use plenty of filler.) After that I didn’t bother returning for a few months. Today my daughter wanted to eat here while we were across the street at the post office, so I decided to try again. Again, cold food, and unfriendly service. $30 to feed an adult and 2 kids, with only one drink, 2 kids bowls and a bowl with 2 bases, a protein and a veggie. For the lack of flavor and cold “hot” food, WAY overpriced. I can grill at home and use my Instant Pot and get way better results. Yuck. I definitely believe the reviewers who said they get sick from eating here. Lukewarm “fresh” food, including my daughter’s dry chicken,...
