As someone with celiac disease, eating out can often feel stressful and limiting! But La Forchetta in Stuart, completely blew me away with how knowledgeable, accommodating, and genuinely caring they were about my dietary needs. This place is an absolute gem for anyone needing (like Me) or choosing to eat gluten-free.
From the moment we sat down, our server Andrew was incredibly attentive, making sure every detail of my meal was safe. He answered all my questions with confidence and made me feel like a priority — not a burden.
Before dinner, we started with two appetizers:
A gluten-free pizza that was honestly the best gluten-free pizza I’ve ever had. I’ve tried gluten-free pizza at a few different restaurants plus tried making it at home, and I've always been disappointed — but their version had me rethinking everything. Perfect crust, great flavor, and nothing about it felt like a compromise. We also had sautéed clams and mussels in a bruschetta wine sauce, and it completely blew my mind. The sauce was light yet packed with flavor, and the seafood was cooked perfectly and soft like butter.
For dinner I ordered the veal Parmesan — completely gluten-free, made with gluten-free breadcrumbs and they cooked it in a separate pan to avoid any cross-contamination. It was outstanding. Crispy outside, extremely tender inside, and layered with their delicious homemade red sauce, which deserves a paragraph of its own. My wife had the chicken Francese, and she loved it — awesome lemon butter sauce. Our daughters enjoyed every bite of their meals as well — one had penne pasta with meatballs, and the other had stuffed shells. They both cleaned their plates.
Another huge plus: La Forchetta can make nearly anything on their menu gluten-free, from pizza and pasta to entrees like breaded dishes like parmigiana — all safely and thoughtfully prepared. It’s rare to find a place this flexible and this delicious.
The ambience is charming — cute, cozy, and intimate, making it perfect for both a family dinner and a date night.
La Forchetta isn’t just gluten-friendly — they are celiac-safe, deeply knowledgeable, and genuinely caring. I met the owner as we were leaving and you can see she really cares about people in my situation. This is a place I will definitely become a regular at. Thank you to the entire team, especially Andrew and the lovely owner, for making me feel safe...
Read moreNEVER COMING BACK!! Second time trying this place. First time, dined in and the food was pretty decent. Service was good. This time called in an order, said I wanted “the Grandma Pizza” and asked specifically about the freshness of one of the toppings. I overheard the young girl asking the cook (?) for verification but he couldn’t. She was honest, I ordered anyway. Went to pick up my pizza 45 min later (because that’s how long they said it would take) and the wrong pizza was made. I told the guy making pizza (perhaps the same cook from earlier?) what I said to the girl who took my order. He said THIS is what you ordered. I told him, I did not and pleaded with the girl who was standing there looking like a deer in headlights not saying anything. He scoffed at me and demanded I show him what I was talking about. I did. He started to yell, causing a scene. Everyone in the restaurant was now turning our way. I just wanted to leave. Apparently, there are 2 “Grandma’s Pizza” on the menu, 1 just called Grandma’s Pizza” the other Casa de....Grandma’s Pizza” I explained to him that I had no idea that 2 existed and that they were different, as I do not work at your restaurant. The person over the phone should have clarified instead of assuming. He yells, “Do you know how many Grandma’s pizza we sell? We would have to ask every customer what they want!” A restaurant, having to ask what their patrons want?? How terrible, right?
To put an end to the embarrassing display, I ask if this is the best solution: to have me pay for something I don’t want and didn’t knowingly order. He passive aggressively “explained” my situation to what must have been the manager, using his own version of what happened, yelling and slamming things the whole time. She says “fire up a Casa de....Grandma’s Pizza right away“. (So not 45 min, you say?...). I ask them to just forget about making the pizza a couple of minutes later because I couldn’t stand in that place any longer realizing I was paying them to be treated like that. This happened just as the girl at the cash register begins to tell me I need to pay $12 more for their pizza error. Apparently 1 pizza is a lot more expensive then the other. The menu online (and even in the store) is not clear about the pizza selections or prices. Actually the prices aren’t even on the menu online. I got a refund and left....
Read moreMy wife and I first went to La Forchetta in 2013, over 10 years ago, while we lived about 10 miles away in Palm City. It became our favorite “Go- To” when we desired a very nice (special) atmosphere and guaranteed great food. In 2016 we moved to Stuart (about 2 miles from La Forchetta) and when our friends from Palm Beach Gardens wanted to visit our new home in Stuart, my wife and I suggested we first all meet at La Forchetta for dinner, and then come to our home after dinner for cordials. There were 14 of us in total and were seated at one large round table in the middle of the back room. I didn’t know any of the staff by name and did not request anything other that a reservation for 14. You also know how bad it can be to have 14 at one table. Well, it was the best dinner for all of us. I don’t get to see this group very often but the on-going story is how much everyone enjoyed La Forchetta. All 14 meals with drinks and wine were served timely and correctly. No complaints, they all loved what they had to eat and when we do see them, they especially remember and rave about the Cappuccinos with the sugar sticks.
Well, my wife passed away 2 years ago. I could not bear to go back to La Forchetta by myself until about 6 months ago. At first all I could do (emotionally) was get “take-out” Their Meat Ball Parm subs, The Special Stromboli, and Lasagna were my staples from a varied menu. Always pre-ordered and hot and ready when I arrived. I finally got the “nerve” to sit at the bar and enjoy my meal in-house. I got to meet and know Francesca, John-Luca, a fantastic Pizza maker who is now a more fantastic server. (Btw, Francesca can also make great pizzas, also an uncle does it regularly now.) Other servers, Julie, Gina, Nathan (who was just promoted to a Server after working the take out for quite a while), others I know by their face but not by name. This a Family, Family Business. It gets crowded for a reason!!! Great food, Service and Hospitality. You sometimes will need a reservation to even sit at the 6-seat bar. I have had to wait for a seat. I love...
