What a cute coffee spot; perfect for St. Augustine’s vibe! I fully appreciate that this spot is a beautiful restored old home turned into a coffee and light bites cafe. You won’t find gems like this in Jax. This was hella worth the 45 min drive from the city.
I saw Maracuya post delicious drink specials the past few weeks on instagram and made it a point to come out and try the food and coffee! (It was a coincidence that I just happened to make it out on mister T biscuits bday) You are immediately greeted with a smile as soon as you walk in by the sweetest barista who explains everything in detail for first timers like myself. She welcomed the bday boy which was very nice of her since it was raining out and I couldn’t leave him in the car with the windows rolled up. Normally I’m polite and leave my 45lb dog in the car but I did not expect the rain on my quick lil visit. This was a very sweet gesture.
I ordered the special latte I saw on Instagram (white chocolate mocha with lavender whipped cream) and it was just as magically delicious as I thought it would be. I also got another special that day - the chocolate banana espresso cake! So dang good! The other two scrumptious food options I tried: the beef empanada that comes with a lime slice and sauce, and the muffin which is the Ahi de gallina - which had a delicious savory filling inside. Next time I visit I’m making sure to Not eat lunch first so I can try more things.
I also noticed they had a cute lil outdoor space both on the front patio, and on the back porch area. This would be the perfect spot to bring a book or work remotely for lunch. Will also be checking that out on my next rain free visit.
On the way out I grabbed a passion lychee tea that came with edible glitter inside! How cool! I love the lil touches this coffee shop puts into each menu item to make it special for guests. Give Maracuya a try - this just became my new fave cafe to visit when in St Augustine. If you visit their Instagram page, they tell you where you can park right next to the shop for free. I found parking right out front but parking should not be an issue; plenty of free parking right...
Read moreThis little unassuming coffee shop is an amazing gem! The lattes are phenomenal and the desserts and empanadas utterly delectable. Not a surprise since it was opened by the owner of Llama Restaurant, which is absolutely amazing.
From the street it looks like your average family home, but the inside has been tastefully decorated and there is a small seating area inside, and another outside on the front porch.
Parking is a bit tricky in this little mostly residential neighborhood, but they provide helpful information on their Facebook page to park on Travis Street as well as a city lot nearby.
For lattes, we've tried the Pistachio Dark Mocha, Algarrobina, Horchata White Mocha, and Orange. Each has a uniquely flavored whipped cream to go on top. Every single one is not only one of a kind, but absolutely delicious.
The savories may change but the empanadas seem to be a mainstay item, at least while they last. Not your ordinary filled empanada either, but they use items from their restaurant and turn them into tasty little snacks in the coffee shop. I had a wonderful quiche so full of flavor, but next visit there was an egg based cupcake shaped delight instead.
The sweet desserts come from a page in their restaurant, little cups of heavenly mouses and other delights.
They also offer fresh-squeezed tropical juices.
Don't sleep on this place! You will find something you love and you will want to return over...
Read moreI actually usually like coming to this spot it’s very cute and the coffee is usually very good. Unfortunately today I went and wanted to grab a coffee before a road trip I ordered and biscoff latte the girl working made me a gingerbread latte. I looked at her confused thinking it was for another customer that was around she is like this is yours. I said I’m sorry I didn’t order that because personally I do not like gingerbread I said I ordered the cookie butter latte she said I’m sorry I’ll make you it and I apologized as well because I felt bad that it would go to waste I just do not like that flavor. Instead of remaking the right one she decided to give me the same coffee and just throw a biscoff cookie on top of it to make it seem like it was the original...
