Overall, avoid at all costs. Below is a detailed review of this establishment. Many months of dining here and cataloged reports of every major event.
Sanitation issues Insects Spoiled Seafood Contaminated Silverware & Plates Overall, repeated food poisoning reports from my business associates.
Below is where the review starts, which begins excellently, but drastically becomes a literally nightmare.
The Tempura Appetizer was very good. Crispy and not saturated by oil. I’m more accustomed to a more transitional style Tempura flakes, but this is good alternative. It has great flavor. The lunch special came with Miso Soup and a Japanese style salad. The soup hit all the fundamental marks for flavor and consistency. Nothing out of this world, but you know you’re eating good Miso Soup. The salad, is a salad to be fair. The only thing that makes a salad stand out is the sauce. In this case, it is a carbon copy of a traditional dressing, that leans a bit too much on the sweet side. It is good, but not as balanced.
I had the lunch sushi special, to try their more “fresh” dishes. All the cut fish looked excellent, had the proper textures, and the correct tastes. For the roll, I had the one with the filet mignon. I don’t remember the name of the roll. It was good, but not something worth remembering.
A great lunch and a place I would highly recommend over many many others in Port Charlotte and various local counties.
With a soda, one appetizer, a premium lunch special, and an uncooked sushi roll, it came out to:
$41.89 plus a $15 Tip.
Update: 2024 November 18
I ordered the BMW Roll and Shrimp Tempura Entree and now have food poisoning. It was the only thing I ate today. It’s 2AM and have not stopped being sick for the past 6 hours.
Update: 2024 December 6
Order the same foods that caused issues prior with no personal health issues in the past week. Level of Customer Service has significantly increased with additional attention to details. Quality and freshness of foods has significantly increased. Will recommend location after additional visits to ensure overall quality has been sustained.
Final Update: 2024 December 23 Shrimp Tempura: vegetables were soggy on the inside. Miso Soup was excellent. House Salad was excellent. Naratu Sushi Roll (Cucumber Wrap) was absolutely abysmal. The worst tasting sushi I have ever had tasted. It was saturated in a pink liquid which tasted funny. Come to find out it was a pink laxative they put in my sushi. It was already suspicious that the waitress asked why I didn’t eat it all and to tell her why I didn’t eat it all. Of the dozen times I’ve eaten here and left food on the plate, she has not once asked me this question. I soon realized what they attempted to do and I asked for the bill. I got home and became ill. They have their children working there during multiple visits which, under Florida law, is illegal given their age. Taking orders, answering phone calls, and assisting customers is the responsibility of employees which he has fulfilled on multiple and separate occasions. Hopefully, they will be reported to proper the authorities and be investigated. Especially, on multiple reports on food poisoning. They also have other employees in the back and at the sushi bar that are not legally documented to work. No work visa, no citizenship, no green card.
I’ve been a responsible reviewer of restaurants, establishments, and various locations for many years. This review is an extended and long detailed report. As you can see from their response to my review, they wish me to not return as well. Most locations wish to find a resolution. In this case, they are aware of the problems, but choose to ignore them even though recommended to.
Unfortunately, after serious consideration, I cannot recommend this location any further after a long period of dining here. A multitude of opportunities to provide an unbiased review has lead to this result. The prices have also increased dramatically while the portions have decreased in direct...

Read moreUpdate 04/03: We're backkkkk😂🤣 We ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen and King Losbter Rolls. Yummy yummy 😋. Both are very good. The lobster tempura is crunchy, the avocado is so creamy that blended in perfectly with its sauce. Shirley, our server was wonderful and friendly, very attentive too. She's frequently checked on us for water refilling and other things... We really liked the freshness of the food and the good service of this restaurant. Price is fair too. Highly recommend it.
Found this wonderful restaurant on Google. It located in between Beals and Winn Dixie. Very welcoming staff. Special shout out to Kay, our server, she is attentive and helpful. She recommended some of their popular dishes from a large menu. My husband and I, we tried Tonkotsu ramen (new item) and it was DELICIOUS. The creamy broth is balanced with the noodles and the sliced pork is perfect tendered as well as the egg yolk. Our next dish was Misaki Special for 2, it's a combo for 2 which came with lobster tail, shrimp, steak that served with fried rice, noodles and mixed vegetables. It also came with miso soup and salad. Last, but not least, a yummy dessert for 2 also included. Very tasty, good food and not oily at all. Generous portion too. We could only finishing 1 out of 2 portions, therefore, to go the left over for the next day. Still good. Lol 😁 Good food, good service. What's not to like? We'll definitely come back to try other...
