Summary: Above average asian restaurant. Excellent service, good atmosphere. A tad more expensive than other asian places. First time last night. Went for dinner so this is not a review of their dim sum. We had Roti Canai appetizer which is two deep fried flakey pancakes with a curry side sauce. It is good, but greasy. My colon is not happy this AM. For main tried both their spring and egg rolls, almond chicken, Bistro fried rice, and Thai curry chicken clay pot. The rolls were good, nothing special, but you really couldn't tell the difference between the two. I expected the egg rolls to be larger, but they were identical size and appearance to the spring rolls. Fried rice was very good and huge, easily serve 4 as a side. Lots of veggies in it, which I like. The almond chicken was solid. I wish they used slivered almonds rather than whole almonds, but that's just me. A also thought the chicken pieces should be cut in 1/2 the size served, or cut in strips rather than the large, silver dollar size as servered. And their place settings do not include a knife, which would have been handy in what we ordered, so you might want to ask for one. The Thai curry was very good, but was closer to a typical yellow curry than what I would call "Thai" curry, which to me has a strong flavor of lemongrass and coconut milk. It was there, but subtle. But I understand the vast types of "curry" out there. It was very good, just not what I expected. Guessing it's a northern Thai style curry rather than a more fruity, southern Thai style. It could have been a tad hotter to me as well. Atmosphere was good, but I don't care if I'm eating in a filthy dumpster if the food is good. Very clean. Service excellent. I should also mention that they don't automatically serve white rice with dishes. Costs an extra $1.75, and you don't get a lot, but enough. As far as cost, you see what we ordered plus one white rice, three beers, and a plum wine, came to $93 plus tip, but have a lot of leftovers. Next time I'll try the dim sum. Lived in CA so very familiar with excellent...
Read moreI recently dined at Ginger Dim Sum Bistro with a friend, and I must say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was inviting and the staff was incredibly welcoming.
To start, I ordered the shrimp wonton soup, and let me tell you, it was a true delight! Not only was it delicious, but it even came with a surprise - one of my scallions was formed in the shape of a heart! It felt like the soup knew just how much I loved it, and it brought a smile to my face. I couldn't help but chuckle at the sweet gesture. See the picture!! lol
For my main course, I opted for the chicken lettuce wraps. Although they are listed as an appetizer on the menu, the portion was generous enough to make it a satisfying meal on its own. The flavors were outstanding, and I appreciated the freshness of the ingredients.
My friend decided to go for the orange chicken, and she was equally delighted with her choice. She mentioned how the flavors were spot on, and the chicken was tender and succulent.
Special note: For both the chicken lettuce wraps and the orange chicken, both dishes are normally served with dark meat, but if you ask for white meat they will make the substitution for a $2 up-charge and it is worth it.
What truly elevated our dining experience was our server. They were an absolute delight! Attentive, courteous, and always ready with recommendations and a friendly smile, our server went above and beyond to make our evening memorable.
Overall, Ginger Dim Sum Bistro exceeded our expectations. The food was delicious, the service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was just right for a pleasant evening out. Whether you're a fan of shrimp wonton soup shaped with love, generously portioned lettuce wraps, or flavorful dishes like orange chicken, Ginger Dim Sum Bistro is the place to be. We'll definitely be returning for more...
Read moreWhere’s the chicken!!! Ordered Sesame Chicken Fried and got slivers of microscopic chicken breast covered in batter and drenched in sweet sour sauce!! Rice is extra and doesn’t come with meal, what? Paid extra for chicken breast making the meal $16.95. Never tasted or saw any chicken and I have never had sweet n sour sauce on my Sesame Chicken before. Server said that is how they do it there because older people love the sweet sauce! I’m 69 and I wanted protein with the beautiful broccoli served and got no meat that I could find. My husband got shrimp fried rice and it was so dry he couldn’t stand it. He asked for sauce and received oyster sauce to add to it. Didn’t help. I know times are tough but this was pitiful. Paid our bill, came home and fixed a sandwich cause I was still hungry. Place is way to dark at 3:30 -4 in the afternoon. Best I could see it was clean but depressing. No one in the dining room yet but light would help patrons see what they are eating better. Or maybe that is the idea. Either way with such great reviews I expected better and will not be giving this restaurant a second chance. I’m sorry but I’m tired of dining out and not even feeling like I ate a thing. Turn on the lights and take a look at your business. It’s time to fix your problems. Shrink the menu so overhead isn’t high during these times. Serve s fair portion of protein! Train your staff on food preparation and teach your staff to deliver what was ordered not a sugary...
