I'm on a mission to try every breakfast establishment in my new home area, and the Moultrie Creek Diner was on the list. Happily, we had a wonderful dining experience and will definitely be back.
My daughter ordered the chicken and waffles while I opted for old reliable, ham and eggs, dressed up with a side of grits and rye toast. And coffee. Lots of coffee.
Everything was delicious! The ham was not sliced from the supermarket deli and full of flavor. Eggs were fluffy and well scrambled. Rye toast crunchy and tasty. Grits were awesome. I am so sorry I missed out on grits for most of my life, but plan to make up for that in the future.
Waffles were good, fried chicken juicy and delicious.
Coffee flowed faster than we could drink it, and was hot and tasty. Strong, like diner coffee should be. It's not all about lattes and Monin syrup shots, you know. Sometimes you just want a good cup of joe, and the diner is where I rely for that experience. They did not disappoint.
Prices were reasonable, and service was phenomenal! Lori was so friendly and accommodating as though we'd been coming there for years.
The menu has some interesting choices including pork roll, and they make their own shrimp salad. We'll be back to try out...
Read moreAbsolutely, an authentic diner with first rate customer service and the best of the best of what you would expect and want. Best perk of all; it was a relaxing, sit back and enjoy great tasting meal - - - a nice break from a long drive. The menu had a good variety, including a late breakfast service. My wife and I enjoyed really great coffee and Greek and Veggie omelets that were done perfectly (lots of egg, thick, and everything inside was cooked just right). It's the way I remember omelets as a kid when mom made them (I am a senior citizen now). My comment to the waitress was " I bet Chef Ramsey would love this omelet". It was that good. The waitress was very friendly, professional and attentive, and our coffee cups never ran dry. It was obviously a team effort among the staff, from service to grill to bussing tables. No idleness was seen; if not attending to customers, then cleaning areas and prepping was being attended to. Highly recommend this diner - - - clean, great presentation and an engaged staff that well represents the diners of America. ...
Read moreToday I went to Moultrie Creek Diner for a cup of coffee and some potatoes. I've been coming here for over 20 years. Today I walked in and was immediately verbally accosted and threatened by a customer who accused me bad mouthing his supposed guide dog. By doing so, which I didn't do, the owner accused me of bad mouthing him also. I denied the accusations and feel this man was "high" on something. He did everything he could to start a fight. I did not advise him of my right to stand my ground as I am licensed to carry a concealed weapon. If the man has struck me, there's a good chance I would have ended his life in front of his wife and child. I decided to just turn and walk away. Lori, the owner, has put profit ahead of service and quality at her diner. She's also violating local and state laws by not verifying any guide dog's credentials. She's also facing a massive lawsuit if this "gentleman" should confront me again. There's better places to eat in the area. But I will stop again just to advise her of...
