Its taken me a LONG time to come to grips that there may actually be good pizza in my neighborhood (Estero). This place has gotten tons of good reviews and I just never believed them. Well, I tried it, and it is GOOD. Now im only going to comment on the pizza, service and the actual restaurant. We didn't try any of the food, yet, but we will. Upon entry, its dark and lit up kind of like a lounge or a nightclub with fluorescent lighting and custom wall lamps. It was about 6 pm on a Friday and it was very busy. I was very surprised. Off season and almost every table was full. Our server Kenzy, very cool and attentive. (She also works at Low Brow and reccomends the wings) Im thinking I may have prematurely judged this spot. Ok, so I arrived before my wife it was our engagement anniversary (thank you Facebook memories) so I ordered 2 glasses of the house wine. Not very good to be honest. Then proceeded to order 2 small pies a La Parma (white pie) which had Buratta - Prosciutto Di Parma - Arugala - Lemon Infused EVOO and a Spicy Baby that had Pepperoni - Ricotta - Red Pepper Infused Honey. Now the spicy baby was not spicy but I changed that with extra red pepper. Both pies were very good. The crust was light and airy and crunchy. You can tell its made with quality ingredients by people who know what they are doing. So from what I gathered, this spot is owned by the same group who took over Low Brow. The pizza is completely different. This is more of a old world style pizza. I like it alot. Also they opening another location in Bonita very soon as well so business...
Read moreVisited on Father’s Day around 7pm. It was a slow evening, and it took a while before the waiter came over to take my order. Interestingly, the busser seemed to be the most attentive and active staff member during my visit.
Right from the start, the experience was off…the hostess didn’t greet me, just stared and waited for me to say something. Not exactly a welcoming first impression. I should’ve left right away.
I ordered the 10” Cosa Nostra pizza, and unfortunately, it was one of the worst pizzas I’ve ever had. Honestly, even Costco pizza tastes better. The dough was dry, tough to chew, and to make things worse, it was burnt.
There is no point in complaining to the waiter or the manager, they’re not the ones making the pizza. The chef is the one who needs to have a serious talk with the owner. if the kitchen is letting food go out like that, it’s a deeper issue than one night’s mistake. That said, I truly hope the manager or owner sees this and has a serious conversation with the chef, because this level of quality just isn’t acceptable. I was hungry, so I ate what I could, but it was a real letdown.
There’s another Italian place I go to every week, but I decided to try something new/different. Big mistake I won’t be coming back here, and I definitely won’t be recommending it to anyone. This place doesn’t feel like a family-run business, and I’ve come to realize that family-owned spots are usually the ones that care the most about quality.
And no, I don’t want any credit or my money back. I just hope this helps improve things for the...
Read moreLast night we were a party of 8 for a birthday celebration. Appetizers, food and drinks were all perfectly wonderful! Everything came out hot and just as ordered. For shared apps, we had the baby calzones, fried mozzarella, bruschetta, meatballs, and Caesar salad. For dinners, we ordered several different pizzas, lasagna, and Pollo Lombardo. Very nice, flavorful, fresh ingredients shined through each dish. Probably the biggest interesting and most pleasant surprises were the baby calzones and the Spice Baby pizza with the spicy honey drizzle - just YUM, and who would've thought!? We imbibed on several of their specialty cocktails including the espresso (Tell Me When To Stop), and raspberry (Rizz Me Razz) martinis, and the gimlet (East Meets West). We learned about the Italian syrup, orgeat, which is used in their gimlet recipe. The gimlet is now a new favorite drink of one our party members! Lea served us and was amazing and attentive, even with it being a Saturday night full house, inside and outside. The owner even stopped by our table with his young son to check on us and offer happy birthday wishes! Our party traveled up to 40 minutes to get to the restaurant, so a bit out of the way, but very well worth the drive. We plan to meet again real soon at Pezzo Pizza for another excellent...
