Last Thursday, we had lunch with friends at Piesanos Stone Fired Pizza. We right as they opened so there were no issues in finding a table. Not that we’ve had an issue with finding a table. As we entered the restaurant there was a group of women that walked in after us and needed a table for 12. The host that was going to seat us asked us if we wanted to sit inside or outside, I told them outside since it was not hot outside. The host asked the group if they preferred to sit inside or outside, and they too said they preferred outside. As we heard them tell their preference where to sit, my spouse suggested for us to sit inside instead because it will be loud out there with the group. So, I asked the host to seat inside instead. He put us in an area where he felt would be a quieter section inside the restaurant. He said that our server will be Dani and that we would like her.
Dani came out and introduced herself and asked everyone what they wanted to drink first. After placing our drink order, she went away while we looked through the menu to decide what we are going to have for lunch. My spouse and I had salad each. I ordered the Italian salad large while my spouse chose the Greek salad. Our friends each ordered pizza. One ordered the build your own personal size pizza while the other ordered a medium pepperoni explosion pizza. They’ve never been to Piesanos.
Shortly, Dani returned and brought our drinks then took our lunch order. My spouse and I ordered hot wings for appetizer and then everyone placed their entrée. Dani looked at everyone’s drink and asked each one if we wanted a refill. She took our orders and then came back with our refills. Through all of this, Dani was always very pleasant and sometimes would carry on a conversation with us. Not long, but enough to make us feel that she is genuinely interested in what we had to say and would also joke around with us. Not long after that, our food arrived. Everyone’s food looked great. Our friend that ordered the build your own pizza really like her pizza. So, I told Dani I wanted a build your own pizza to go. I ordered a personal size with pepperoni, sausage, meatballs, ground beef, fresh garlic and banana peppers.
I’ve eaten at Piesanos several times before and the servers have always been pleasant; however, no one stood out like Dani. I told my spouse that when we go back to Piesanos I would like to ask for Dani again. He agreed.
I like it when a server leaves such a lasting impression that I would want to ask for the same server again when I return. Well done...
Read moreMy all-time favorite food is Italian food. I saw Piesano's not two miles from my home and thought, why not try them out! This past Sunday we ordered from there for my belated birthday dinner. I got the Chicken Carbonara, others order the Meat Eater Calzone and Chicken Alfredo, along with the cheese bread. Overall, the food was good, and the portion sizes were great! Usually if you order food to go, the restaurant does not seem to give you as much and skimp on the servings. The chicken on the three dishes was good but a tad over cooked, not a deal breaker when you have alfredo sauce. The meat eater calzone was huge and very good, per my brother's report (it looked really good to me! I was a bit jealous! Ha!!). The cheese bread was good, my son liked it. For the amount you get, I think two cups of marinara sauce should come with it. One cup was not enough for 4 people. I think the only thing food wise that I was not crazy about were the rolls. They had some sort of dressing poured over it and made it more of a wet roll. But that is just me! I have talked to others who LOVE these rolls! The staff were absolutely awesome and very friendly! I ordered the food to go so I did not get to have a ton of time in the restaurant but, the atmosphere was very nice, very clean and the staff were friendly and very helpful! I know that this place must be great considering that it is PACKED most of the time starting from opening to closing! I don't think I have been near this place without seeing tons of people inside, in the outside seating area and waiting for a table. Prices are a little on the high side for me but, for the quality and quantity of food you get, it seems very reasonable if you are not on a budget. You will not be disappointed having a meal here! Next time I go, I am having the pizza as I hear...
Read moreFirst time here. This is a tough one as the restaurant itself was great. Food was good, service was good. One issue. A woman walked in with a little poodle with a “service animal” sweater on. Hostess gave her an indoor seat and while they were right behind me and I couldn’t see, from the looks of others it appeared that they sat the dog on the booth seating. (Not legal) Whether it was a real service dog, I can only guess. However, when that party was done, a different person walked out with Fido the service dog, not the original person who walked in supposedly needing it as a service dog. I got totally turned off and I saw other patrons looking at them as well. For dog owners not in the know, or think you are special people and the law doesn’t apply to you, know a few things.
It is against the law to have your dog sit in a seat.
It is against the law in Florida to claim your dog is a service dog, with a $500 fine the first time around.
Emotional support dogs are not considered a service dog when it comes to restaurants in Florida.
The restaurant claims their hands are tied, however they have a right to ask you two questions:
#1 Is the animal required due to a disability? #2 What work or task has the animal been trained to perform?
Restaurant owners should simply put a sign on the door reminding people of the fine, and reminding people that they (the restaurant) have a right to inquire with those two questions. Perhaps this will deter the phonies and leave room for those disabled who truly need the...
