First the good. The food gets an extra star solely for the hashbrown casserole. Delicious & hot. Sadly the only thing hot on our plate.

Unfortunately, things did not start out on a great foot. Although we were sat right away, the wait staff passed us by multiple time without a hello or offer to take a drink order for about 15 mins. After someone finally took our drink order (coffee & water and put in our food order at the same time), it took about another 15 mins to get the drinks.

When our food finally came out, the toasted yolk (egg in toast) was room temp at best. The yolks (request mine be runny, my mom’s cooked medium) were all cooked thru completely. My bacon & mom’s sausages were room temp/cold. Basically it tasted like the food died under the heat lamp waiting to be picked up.

We ended up eating it because no one stopped or even came by for about 30 mins to check in. Not to mention it took so long to just get a drink, longer for food, we didn’t want to wait for an entire meal to be remade.

And just to drive the “waiting” theme home, it took awhile to get the bill & way too long to get the credit card back from the wait staff.

We chose this restaurant specifically for the toasted yolk because it reminded us of a special dish my grandfather would make us. I really wanted it to work & while they seem to use quality ingredients, the execution was lacking - especially for a restaurant whose entire concept is THE EGG. The menu looked great & I joked about working my way thru the Arnold’s on future visits but that really needs a kitchen that can pull off consistent poached eggs with a runny yolk.

We receive approx $5 off when we complained about the yolks being...

My husband took me here for the 1st time I ordered the Arnold I asked the waitress if I could get the egg fully cooked not poached I hate runny she said she would put hard egg down then I got the hash brown casserole with it so I asked the waitress if they used oil to cook the hash browns due to I have food allergies and I told her I was very sensitive to foods she said they used butter then a couple min later she came to the table and said they use Pam spray I said ok that's fine and i proceeded to tell her again im very sensitive to foods well I asked my husband about the sauce they put on my food he looked it up and everything was good we'll I started eating the Arnold and there was a heat to it but I could mainly taste lemon I took a few more bites and it starting burning my insides the lady then proceeded to tell me there was hot sauce in it ok now I have an issue I'm allergic to hot sauce and I can't have anything hot so right before we left all the food I ate literally went down the drain when someone tells u they have food allergies and are very sensitive to foods please don't take that lightly because now I'm sicker then dog I have no insurance to go to the hospital or see a doctor this is a...

I came here Jan 8th this morning to have breakfast with my wife because I was off from work first off the woman greeting at the front desk was very nice and prompt I witnessed her open the door for several people who had canes or could barely walk not every place has that the restaurant was super clean and inviting and just a very cool vibe. I love the giant egg guy on the wall. The food selection is amazing. The food was amazing. Everything actually looks like the picture that’s online and on the menu when it came out. The Food was hot and fresh .Service was amazing. A lot of people complain about the portion size but I’m a big dude and I didn’t even finish my meal but you pay for what you get. I got the tenders, the sausage, gravy and poached egg on top and it was plenty of food so those people must just be crazy. The only thing the second booth from the front door has an air vent that blows directly on the table but besides that everything was amazing I will definitely be back. Just won’t sit their lol. This review is based on a...

First visit, here. Via golf cart, no less! They soft-opened last Monday. Beautiful, good-sized facility, with ample outdoor seating, as well. Well-staffed by smiling faces, and teamwork was on display. We were greeted at the door, and the manager asked how our experience was, as we were leaving. Manda C. was our friendly and helpful server. Our breakfast was outstanding! I had the Big Ben Omelet, and my wife had the 2 Eggs Breakfast Deluxe. Food was hot, pretty, and delicious. Portion sizes were Texas-generous. Coffee is ground inhouse, and was fantastic. We'll be back for lunch, this weekend! Restroom was large, and spotless. Dining room is attractive and has a nice vibe. It's a bit loud when it's busy. Hard to carry on a conversation. Maybe some sound-deadening material on the ceiling would help? No alcoholic drinks available, yet, but were told "next week". Beer will be in bottles. I hope there's an IPA, and they consider serving a local brew, or two.

The Toasted Yolk has a clean look, but it’s not exactly cozy. It’s a big industrial-style space with high ceilings, metal vents, and a ton of echo; everything sounds louder than it should. The furniture just looks and feels cold, sharp, and cheap. Just feels kind of impersonal… it isn’t very cozy. Service was pretty slow. It took 25 minutes to get a coffee, which we actually timed. Our server was very kind and apologized but still. Also, the silverware came out smudgy, which isn’t a great first impression before eating. I tried the Alaskan Benedict, and flavor-wise, it was solid. The salmon was cooked perfectly and had just the right amount of spice. But the poached eggs were way overdone, yolks mostly cooked through, which was a letdown. The plate looked half empty(lots of space unused), like they forgot to finish plating it. Overall, not terrible. But not a go-to option for me next time.

Today was our first visit to The Toasted Yolk Cafe at Lake Deaton Plaza in The Villages and it will not be our last. The cafe is bright and welcoming. The wait staff is friendly and stops by to see if you need anything else. I had the Ruben Sandwich that had the perfect ratio of sauerkraut and corned beef. The bread was toasted and not soggy. It came with a generous helping of French fries. Hubby had the BLT. Lots of thick cut bacon, tomatoes and lettuce on toasted bread with a side of French fries. Our waitress, Alyssa, was friendly and right on point. I highly recommend The Toasted Yolk Cafe for breakfast or lunch. You won't be disappointed!
