KUMO SUSHI &HIBACHI — Restaurant in Wildwood

Unacceptable for the second time. Ordered directly through restaurant site, received text stating 30 minutes for completion. No problem. Waited almost 1 hour for the order after asking 2 employees for assistance. Was told being “packed by owner”. To me this implied the order was just that moment ready. NO! Opened hot dishes and cold, cold were warm and hot were cold. Clearly the order had been sitting for sometime. While I don’t like to complain, as I didn’t after my first, similar, experience. This restaurant needs to be called out.

The merchant representative tried to blame Google but I showed him I ordered through their site, directly, and received confirmation order would be ready in 30 minutes. Once shown that information he attempted to blame the weekend. Um had I used a 3rd party to order id be very forgiving, not from the restaurant directly.

Would have walked out but they required payment on entry and I had already tipped 25%. Dishonest at best, fraudulent at worst. Temperatures aside, food was mediocre at best but top priced for this market. Return, NO. Mistake 1, again, forgiven, twice,...

We didn't have to wait long without a reservation. The place was very busy with about 15 people in front of us. Amy the hostess was very busy taking customers, payments and cleaning tables. Mandy was out server....she was busting her buns! It looked like there were only 2 servers in the restaurant...but they kept up. We all ordered hibachi that came with the clear soup and salad. I ordered steak and shrimp. The pieces were very big but cooked how I requested...medium rare, however the steak was a little tough. My father in law ordered steak and chicken and said the same thing about the steak. My husband ordered the filet and said his was not tough and cooked to taste. Our teenage son basically ate everything but his veggies. All dinners came with the yum yum sauce. We all wished there was a mustard or ginger sauce available. The meal was not a 5 however, I would come again and would recommend it. I was really impressed how busy it was and how fast the food came out.

One last thing, for drinks...there is water, beer, wine and soda, unfortunately no liquor for those that can't drink...

My in-laws spoke highly of this restaurant as they visit it once a month.

This was my first time visiting this sushi and Hibachi restaurant, and it was an amazing experience! From the moment I walked in, I was warmly greeted by the entire staff. The restaurant was spotless and well-kept, which immediately made a great impression. Our waitress was attentive, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the menu. The food arrived quickly and did not disappoint everything was delicious — the chicken teriyaki was flavorful, the shrimp tempura roll was delicious, and the shrimp hibachi is definitely a must-try!

As a special bonus, they provide a surprise happy birthday dessert to my mother in law. We didn’t plan it, they must have took note when we mention it conversation. Now that is customer service and an experience my mother in law will never forget.

We arrived at 4:30pm on a Friday it was slow and then came the rush around 5:30-6:00pm. Clearly this is a popular restaurant in the community and rightfully so!
