Restaurante El Bodegon — Restaurant in Florida

My family and i went to eat here. My mother and grand father ordered soup with a side of rice and ground beef. The ground beef was quite literally white and had the consistency of saw dust. In fact, it had no flavor and when the waitress asked if everything was good, my mother kindly told her that they didnt like the meat and asked the waitress if the "ground meat" was chicken or even turkey. The waitress said the it was beef and it was in the columbian style and that it was meat powder. What! Meat powder! The waitress instead of taking it off the check, cause it was obvious that no one ate the thing, returned with the check with the full amount and with an obligatory tip already added to the bill. It is very clear that nor my family nor i will be returning...

Although crowded, the experience from the counter was pleasant. Our orders were quickly received and despite the fact of my limited spanish the server did her best to serve me. I would say the language barrier was the only challenging encounter, because the food was perfect. And I do mean perfect! The platanos maduro were perfectly crisp around the edges and soft but firm in texture. The ceviche was the best I've had in town and I have had it from a few places. The people serving are nice, but the politics of the place and pricing is horrible.

They do not allow you to order at the counter and then eat at the table. Why? I don't know why. It is not about the tip for me. It is about the slow service from the waiting staff and the fact that I'm hungry and want something easy and fast while sitting down.
