First of all it's not a Japanese place. It's mainly korean, and then, I suppose, whatever Chinese food they think they could add. The menu is a real hodgepodge. Each type of food is what you would expect from a basic restaurant opened by someone who is trying to satisfy everyone while satisfying no one. I went in for lunch at noon on a monday, one person at the sushi bar, and a couple at a table. That was it. The waitress brought a menu fairly quickly but her command of English was extremely limited, so it was difficult to get questions like do you have cold green tea or do you have cold tofu answered. That was fine, although it would have been nice half dozen or more small plates of Korean vegetables when normally gets with a Korean meal. I waited for an answer for a while but nothing happened. I moved to the sushi bar thinking that perhaps service would be a little quicker. Plus I do prefer my Sushi fresh cut, and assumed the sushi chef with handed to me. At the sushi bar, the waitress brought my menu back and told me to place my order through her, which again was fine. I still assumed for some reason that the sushi chef would hand it to me. He never, in the half hour I was there, looked up. Not once. Not when I said hello, not when I put my order in. About 15 minutes after I put my order in, and again there were only two other patrons in the place, he disappeared for 10 more minutes. I was just about to leave when he returned after the waitress went looking for him. He finally made my order, handed it over the counter to me again without making any sort of eye contact or looking up. All of this might not have bothered me if the sushi were any good. It was a very simple order. Two pieces of ikura sushi and one order of salmon sashimi. One glass of Club soda. Mind you, not Perrier but Club soda. The ikura was someone tasteless, though edible. The wasabi was old enough that it had started to turn brown. The sashimi came on shredded daikon so old it was brown and tan rather than a crisp clear white color. The sashimi itself was so bad that after eating a small piece I left the rest. It wasn't just tasteless. It was not good. I asked my waitress for the check and she noticed the plate but didn't ask why I had left most of the food. $22 later I am giving this restaurant a single star. Oh. Even after I left, 40 minutes after I had initially sat down, the sushi chef never looked up. Instead he occupied himself...
Read moreThis is a sushi place you would only know of probably by word of mouth,it's got a pretty ugly sign that just says sushi but I heard that they supposedly had good sushi and boy they weren't wrong,I've had sushi from publix, from buffets, and even from really good restaurants and im ngl this sushi was definitely a 9 out of 10.i would give it a 10 out of 10 but like I want to save that spot.Anyways they had sushi priced pretty good too,the cheapest sushi roll was like 4 dollars and I ordered six for my gf and me and we were stuffed,I did get the k roll which was 13 dollars but it was definitely worth the money I promise you ypu cannot go wrong, they also sell salads, soups, boba tea, soft drinks, sake(hot or cold)and they have lunch specials and dinner specials as well. The bathrooms for men were very clean, like spotless. Now I can't lie, would this place be this way if it had more customers, maybe not but who knows, plus that's kind of what makes the place special,it's for people that if you know you know kind of thing,it's not very big but it's pretty cozy, they have very polite staff who came to us for any little thing we needed.Overall I spent 42 dollars for their sushi, but remember I did buy the 13 dollar roll which could have been just 4 dollars,so if you want to really fill yourself and a buddy or date;) you can easily get away with it with 30 dollars. They also prepare your food in an area that you can see and watch so no closed doors and you can just clearly tell the sushi is fresh when you take that first bite.I also noticed they have a screen that displays the different foods they offer on the menu in a slideshow so if you are picky and just want to go with something that catches your eye just check out the screen.I rated this 5 stars for a reason,I hope they continue to do...
Read moreI stumbled across this place yesterday while looking for a new lunch place, in hopes of finding decent Sushi in the area. Without even consulting Yelp first, I bravely took a seat at the empty Sushi bar at the peak of lunchtime. Quickly scanning the menu, I realized I wouldn't be out for less than $40 for lunch as the prices for Sushi were $5-6 (per two pieces) on average and the rolls $10-13. I asked for a lunch menu on which there were several reasonable choices, including a lunch box with a dozen pieces (chef's choice) of Sashimi for $13.99. Since his choice did not include Yellowtail I requested an order, which turned out to be a gateway fish. I followed that with Salmon, a spicy tuna hand roll and something else. With tip and beverage, my earlier prediction was correct. $40 for lunch. That said, the fish was pretty darn good. The service excellent and friendly. The facilities clean and not run down. This is the kind of place where I could become a regular so if you see me sitting alone at the bar be sure to say hi.
