This was the third or fourth time my wife and I ordered take out from this restaurant. I grew up in Philadelphia PA. I have had some great pizzas in my days, from PA. CO. to TX. I tried to resolve a situation that took place on Saturday Dec. 2, 2018. We ordered A 14 inch pizza an order of hot wings HOT and a steak and cheese grinder. The first thing I can say about the food is, it was terrible!! The pizza I ordered was a 14 inch with half pepperoni half anchovies and extra cheese. The grinder my wife orderd was with extra cheese. I donât ever write reviews because if it was bad enough, I just wouldnât order from there again! Well in this case I must make reference to this food we ordered, The pizza crust was so thin that it wouldnât of been able to support the toppings!!! But instead I picked up a slice and it was so dry, it was just like picking up a piece of cardboard.. The steak and cheese grinder was so soggy, my wife didnât even want to eat it. For the wings we ordered, they were burnt and dry. I could go on, but I wonât!!! I called the restaurant that night, and there wasnât a manager or supervisor there! The owner, I was told, She was in New York, on vacation. I gave Lily my phone Number, and was told I would be contacted the next day. It is Sunday evening at 8:30 still didnât receive a call. The one thing that my wife and I can say is that we will never order food from there again!!! We will also spread the word though the Villages about this very bad food and lack of concern that the staff managers and owner or owners showed to the customers of this restaurant THIS WAS A VERY BAD DINING...
Read moreI was going to give this place a try until I found this first.. and I am glad I did.
I don't like leaving negative reviews but I am getting sick of these places thinking it is acceptable to be filthy and put peoples health at risk just because they are lazy and careless.

The same day, the inspector also visited Sammy Joeâs restaurant at Mulberry Grove Plaza.
The inspector issued a âstop saleâ order after finding a âmeatball sitting directly on soiled shelf in reach in cooler in cookline,â according to the report. An employee discarded the meatball.
Flying insects were found in the kitchen and were traced to a back door which was open due to a delivery. The presence of insects was noted to a be a repeat violation.
There was French toast egg mix at 60 degrees rather than the required 41 degrees. The inspector found packages of pork thawing in a bucket in a mop sink.
The inspector also watched as a female employee touched her apron, wiped her face and continued cooking eggs without washing her hands. Meanwhile a male employee touched his pants and continued cooking while wearing gloves that had not been changed.
The exterior of a pizza oven was oversoiled with grease buildup and a shelf under a pizza-making table was soiled with debris. There were also cutting boards soiled with debris.
The violations at Sammy Joeâs were also serious enough to require a...
Read moreI have personally eaten here over 20 times when I visit my dad. I'm not a rhodes scholar but I have eaten pizza all over the world in some of the best pizza places. I have taken Neapolitan pizza courses in hopes of some day opening my own pizza place. I know pizza. This pizza is far and ahead of other pizzas. Hell even the pepperonis are cooked perfect. Maybe of hint of butter on the crust. I'm 900 miles away still thinking about it. My brother tells me the CHEF that makes the pizzas is VERY passionate about his pizzas. Thank you Chef for a wonderful pie each and every time. I don't know how you do it. The breakfast is world class also.
Not that pizza is not important but some things are more important. Paul, my dad, left us this year to find a pizza place in heaven. Before he went on his quest he ate at Sammy and Joe's for as long as I remember at least twice a week. During the weekly phone calls he always updated me on the going's on at the restaurant. Sammy Joe's was my dad's adopted family. They fed the man good food that he would of never of made for himself. Kept him nourished and I give them credit for adding years to the man's life. They treated him like family. I am truly grateful to them....
