We have dined at this restaurant dozens of times since it opened. It used to be great, but a recent ownership change was for the worse. A couple of weeks ago we went for lunch as we have so many times in the past, ordered what we often order, and it did not go well. My wife typically cannot eat a standard meal at most restaurants since they tend to include a large amount of food. She told the server she is not that hungry and asked if she could order a quesadilla from the kid's menu. The server said yes. What she received was the adult size quesadilla instead. When we asked the server if the quesadilla was the typical size for a kid's meal, the server said it is the adult kid's meal (huh??). We asked for clarification but she struggled to explain the difference. She kept calling it an "adult kid's meal". I asked her for clarification - is a kid's meal or an adult meal? She could not or would not answer. She then got a young male to come to our table to assist, who we assume is supposed to be a manager (he did not introduce himself). He said there is a $1 upcharge for an adult to have a kid's meal. We have no problem with that even though the server should have told us beforehand. However, the charge for the "adult kid's meal" was $13. I asked the manager if my wife received a kid's meal or an adult meal. He could not or would not answer the question. At that point I could tell there is something not right about this restaurant. I asked several times which one and how much do they cost and neither of them could (or would) answer me. It was obvious we were concerned about their lack of transparency; however, that did not deter them from avoiding answering our questions. We asked if the owner Gustavo is available (we had spoken with him many times before when we visited and appreciated his friendliness and welcoming attitude). The server informed us the restaurant was recently sold. We immediately knew why our experience was drastically different. The server and manager made no effort to address our concerns or welcome us back. Their attitude was one of indifference. Unfortunately, we will not be going back. We really liked eating here; however, we cannot support a restaurant that operates in...
Read moreThis place was pretty good, for the most part. While writing this review, I realized itâs Tuesday. No taco Tuesday specials were mentioned. Sadly.
Service: The service wasnât very good, there were only a couple other tables. We got our boxes then waited more than 10 mins for the check. We had to get up and ask for it, because she never came back (we probably would have just waited, but we had somewhere to be.)
Food: You get freed chips and salsa and the salsa was SO GOOD! Not too spicy! I got the street tacos (carne asada) They were pretty good, they could have given more onions and cilantro, but good over all. I asked for a side of rice and beans (because nothing came with the tacos) and was shocked that it was an additional $7.50. The price for a side of rice and beans is a little absurd in my opinion. My street tacos were only 10 dollars. Rice and beans shouldnât be more than 4 dollars (in my opinion.) Insane. My mom is a vegetarian and she went with the potato taquitos. Her only complaint was that they should consider adding cheese to the taquito and doing diced potatoes instead of mashed potatoes. She also mentioned it would have been nice to have a side with her taquitos, but they do not offer sides. Apparently you have to get any side ala carte?? Idk. Iâve never been to a Mexican restaurant where you donât get a side of some sort.
Atmosphere: They have some music playing, itâs not too loud, itâs at the perfect volume. The inside is designed well with some nice decor. The tables for the booths are a little high (for a short person, like myself) so you feel a little low in your seat when eating. The temperature was perfect. It wasnât too busy for lunch on a Tuesday.
Over all: The food was pretty good. The menu is a little pricey for lunch (41 dollars in total - this included our drinks.) The service needs be to worked on. I wouldnât make a special trip there, but if I happened to be in the area and was hungry for some Mexican food, itâd be high on my...
Read moreI was found of this restaurant mostly for its good customer service as well as being close to our home the food is not bad either I'd prefer a bit more kick and flavor to my tru -mex dishes, but I still enjoyed it. Also it was a place we would all get together with friends & family to enjoy a night out! I only gave them a low rating due the last 3 times I was in, the food was incorrect and or not made to order and the friendliness was only at par service compared to all of our other visits. Also I had always added 2 over easy eggs to my dishes with no problems giving. During my last visit I was told they don't do that for customers even if I was willing to pay an extra upcharge they could not make an expectation. They then told me they never did or at least shouldn't have ever done that for me in the past, the owners son then gave me attitude over the entire situation. I asked for the owner to call me and left my contact info with the front counter but I never received a call back, so I left multiple messages over the next few weeks incase the message was never giving the person intended but I still did not get a call back. So I decided to eventually just post this exsperiance online for others!!
My hope is that they work on the staff while teaching them the primary reasons for customer service!
I want to also add that I have owned and operated multiple family restaurants and been in the customer service industry business for most of my life starting in a kitchen at 11 years old and ending in the...
