I am and remain appalled at how horrible you treat customers trying to eat food... make that CLEAN food.
My wife and I were in there for lunch at 12:30 pm Sunday 20 November. As the first customers, we sat out on the outside porch. The owner, an Asian man sitting inside doing his books, at that time elected and decided to have some kid set up Christmas lights above us on exposed cross beams above where where HUMANS were to eat FOOD.
We told the waitress, Samantha, that we would NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT order until the employee was done setting up Christmas lights and dumping dirt on the tables underneath. So we had a beer and an ice tea waiting patiently for the dirt fest to be completed.
After he got one set up, he DECIDED TO set up YET another one... just when we were ready to order. Humans should not have to eat food with dust and dirt falling into their plates.
Here's anther thing to know: the owners's employee was using a 5 step ladder. So when he was done with working in one place he did NOT close the ladder and move over it to another place between tables... oh no... he kept it fully open and moved the ladder INTACT over the tables set for other human beings that would be eating presumably later than day with no knowledge that dirt and who knows what else from the floor was dropped on their eating places.
We got up to leave as we decided that if they were this unsanitary in front of customers, then we were not chancing their food handling, preparation or commitment to sanitation and food safety behind closed kitchen doors.
As we left, we told the owner why we were leaving. He made no effort to stop the kid in the dining room from continuing nor did he make a move to clean the tables whatsoever. By this time, another couple was sitting out on the porch enjoying dropped filth in their food.
The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation has been contacted to conduct an investigation. This place needs an inspection, a DEEP cleaning and basic education in accordance with their...
Read moreI checked all the reviews before we went there and was ready to find a diamond in the rough. I knew it was pricey before, but I figured if the food is amazing, I'm down. My hometown is a foodie heaven so i was ready for it. It wasn't amazing. My one daughter didn't like her fries, she gave them away. We called before hand and they said happy hour drinks were BOGO they weren't. I would have asked for the BOGO, drink special but when I tried to get my other daughter a kids meal the server wouldn't let me, which is ridiculous because my kid can't eat an adult meal (she's 15). The server said she gets an extra tender and could get double fries, which I guess makes sense but she didn't eat the extra tender, so it was a waste. So after the kids chicken finger issue I was not about to ask about Happy Hour drink prices, which at no point did they mention the BOGO drink prices once we got there. I didn't even mention it to the server because I could tell where that would go with the server. I loved my Mahi Mahi, but everything else was meh. My friend hated her chicken dish. I ordered the peach stuffing, it was just weird tasting, plus a buck extra--- not a big deal--- but maybe mention that when I ask about side items instead of upselling me without telling me. When my other daughter got a refill for lemonade the server was like ok, that's your one free refill, which is so weird to me. Not she would have 3 lemonades, they never drink anything but water, but what a nickel and dime thing to do. If your place is upscale, you dont nickel and dime people. If you are a family, this might not be the place for you. I feel like when you walk away from a 200 buck meal, you should be stoked. I wasn't, not even close bud. And I was so excited to try this place. I come to Jensen Beach every year and I thought this would be a new place to add to my favorites, especially because it's locally owned....
Read moreSaturday evening 6:30 PM Reservation: After entering Kettle's Island gated community (No Problem) on Hutchinson Island, we easily found the restaurant at the back of a small strip shopping area. It was on the water with lots of boats between us and the waterway, but still a very "Aquatic" waterfront setting. There was a nice breeze and the dining is on the shady side in the late afternoon/evening. Quite a relaxing place. It is an old time atmosphere place with modern cleanliness. We were quickly seated and given drink and food menus by a bright and friendly waitress who knows everything about the food and specials offered. I had the fried grouper filets with fries ordered with extra tartar and extra lemon. My wife had the chicken with peach cornbread, fries, and string beans. The two grouper filets were fresh and the fries were great and it was delivered with the extra tarter and lemon. My wife's chicken was grilled perfectly with the sauce and cornbread so tasty that she didn't talk until she was half way through. The string beans were also fresh off the vine cooked perfectly. The "COLD" beer and wine was very reasonable, especially considering we were water front. Two wines, three beers and two meals, with tax, was $60.00. Very reasonable for waterfront. There was no music to have the talk over, only the water, my bride and I chatting and several other couples dining near us. It is a very relaxed atmosphere, not a bar "hang-out". I grew up in an upscale restaurant business. My first memories were me serving some beverages as a five year old (My father dressed me up like a waiter). I know fresh food from frozen and prepared food from home cooked. This Restaurant surprised me and I will return. I would definitely recomend a reservation, October through May, when Hutchinson Island fills up. I make reservations all year and it really helps everywhere that matters. 5 Stars for a...
