I had a really wonderful experience at this Skillets Restaurant. Our server, whose name I believe was Jeremy, was absolutely fantastic. He was such a friendly and personable young man, and he went above and beyond to make sure we were happy, in addition to having the perfect personality.
I ordered the French vanilla iced coffee drink because the picture and description looked so delicious on the menu. However, when we got it, it was so thin and tasteless, I might as well have been drinking a glass of water. Jeremy came over and asked how it was, and I answered him honestly. My husband had tasted it as well, and we both agreed that it was completely tasteless. He immediately took it back and had them make me another one. But this one was just as bad as the first one. So then we worked on trying to improve it. I asked for additional coffee to be added to it and more cream and sweetener. I also added some of the French vanilla coffee creamers that were sitting on the table. Eventually, I got it tasting much better and worthy of keeping. He was extremely apologetic about it and his shining personality absolutely won me over. He was so sincere about trying to make it better.
The food, on the other hand, was absolutely delicious. I had the breakfast casserole, and my husband had the sausage gravy and biscuits.
My husband completely cleaned his plate and I couldn’t finish mine because the portion was so large, so I definitely took it home because it was so good. I can’t wait to try it again. We both had the Skillet’s potatoes with our meals which were beyond fantastic.
It was time to close, and we spent a few minutes talking to our wonderful server. He even checked us out at the table so we wouldn’t have to go up front to do it. Even with the issue with the coffee, I was still very pleased with the meal, and the quality of the service, and I will definitely...
Read moreProbably one of the most unprofessional businesses I have ever ate at. Management is very poor, the general manager has no idea how to do her job. Servers are swamped their entire shift. It's sad that you can see the stress on their faces. There is a reason employees are leaving here. There used to be a bunch of great servers here and you can tell why they left if you come in and watch. Just sit at the bar and listen.
Imagine this, you pay $4.75 for an orange juice and they short you 2-3 oz. When you ask the server why it's not full, they say that management wont let them poor you a full glass. Pathetic.
What kind of company staffs only 3 servers on busy weekdays? After today, watching multiple servers visibly upset and frustrated with no support from the managers, I wont return. Fathers day today, they only staffed 6 servers and worked them like dogs. I don't blame the good servers for leaving, management doesn't seem to blink when they leave and I've even overheard the management talking trash about their own servers on many occasions. I can't even count how many times over the past few months I've overheard servers talking about leaving due to poor management. I can't support this business anymore and I don't recommend...
Read moreMy partner and I recently decided to try Skillets for a takeout breakfast, and I must say, we were pleasantly surprised by their offerings, especially for someone like me who requires gluten-free options. I ordered a giant gluten-free chocolate chip waffle, and it was nothing short of amazing. It's a rarity to find a gluten-free waffle that's not only fluffy but also perfectly incorporates melted chocolate chips throughout, making for a deliciously indulgent breakfast treat.
On the other hand, my boyfriend opted for the Border Burrito and the sausage biscuits with gravy. While he found the flavors to be enjoyable, he mentioned that the dishes could benefit from a bit more seasoning, and the hash browns didn't quite meet his expectations. Despite this, he acknowledged that finding such a delightful gluten-free gem makes these minor critiques more than manageable.
For anyone in search of a breakfast spot that caters to gluten-free needs without compromising on taste and variety, Skillets is definitely worth a visit. Their ability to deliver on a fluffy, gluten-free waffle that's this good is a testament to their commitment to diverse dietary needs. We're already looking forward to our next breakfast...
