Smokey Jay's BBQ — Restaurant in Florida

My Husband and I decided to take a drive to Orlando to surprise our eldest daughter for her birthday. We are lovers of barbecue briskets and ribs. Our daughter on several occasions mentioned from her home of the delicious aroma of barbecue when passing by from work. Why not I say? Smokey Jay’s did not disappoint if I could pack this Family owned establishment I would have. The exquisite taste of their Carolina Sauce on top or on the side of Pork Spare Ribs or Brisket seasoned to perfection, fall off the bone goodness. It was definitely difficult to decide so we chose the Pork Spare Ribs and Brisket with Macaroni and Cheese,(might I add baked enough with cheese variations that one knowingly will recognize golden brown topping)😋, Baked Beans to die for brown sugar …oh yeah. Corn bread(Homemade) Butter beans was an optional side dish. The atmosphere was warm, friendly, personal and family oriented. While enjoying the amazing finger licking food experience, I took the opportunity to notice a portrait that spoke volumes ..#FAMILY”..In also noticed the professionalism and the courtesy to everyone who entered the establishment. Their were apparent regulars who are greeted by name, this in itself is heartfelt. The ambiance was warm and inviting. Television for those who are too full to leave right away (too full) 😂😂. I could go on about Smokey Jay’s , the vibe is just positive and when Jay is available.. laughs for days. Are you looking for fall off the bone ribs? Are you looking for brisket so tender just thinking about it makes it melt before your very eyes? And for the love of beans…. I do not think I could ever illustrate just how incredible and life changing the baked beans are. These are the baked beans that can bring a tear to your eye, spread world peace and change your life. It’s like a beautiful medley of cinnamon and brown sugar making sweet love to Jack and the beanstalks magic beans! Well let me tell you- you have come to the right place, the only place-the righteous place. This humble establish provides the work of great healers. When you arrive you are greeted by a warm and attentive man that I can only guess is the owner. You feel right at home like You’re in your family’s living room watching SWAT and eating some amazing home cooking. The menu is concise and you know that what they make is made very well. When the food arrives it’s like Christmas morning. A large platter of meat and sides that fill all the voids in your life. And what is up with the sauce? Have you ever wanted to go and/or be invited to the cookout but your invitation got lost in the mail? Well, say no more. Smokey Jay’s is your chance to get a taste and preview of what to expect. You have to bring your own line dancing music, dominoes and cards but the food is DELICIOUS! The staff felt like we are related. What’s good cousins!?!?

I had the brisket. Nice marble brisket with lots of flavor. And, I’m a big fan of the Carolina style bbq sauce. I had a side of mac and cheese and baked beans. Last but not least, my nickname should be cornbread because I love it, so I had to get a piece. My dad didn’t want to get his own and was trying to eat off of mine. The BBQ man himself brought an extra piece to the table.

I can’t tell you about how much was spent because my dad blessed me for my birthday. He didn’t complain about paying for 3 individuals, so I know it was reasonable. We came in right before the lunch crew came. Business started booming around lunch time. Many blue collar workers like to dine at this spot for lunch. If you know then you know!

My only issue is that everything on the menu is not available everyday of the week. 😮‍💨 I will be back and that’s a fact Jack! 🫡

I forgot to mention. Buddy wakes up everybody in the neighborhood at the crack of dawn with the smell of the grill...
