This is going to be my longest review, but I had to do it because I've been telling the story so long I figured I had to make it public. When I first moved to Florida roughly a decade ago, I was at the World Famous Swamp Buggy Races and there was a guy named Rick there with a smoker on a trailer the size of a mail truck. The pig he was roasting inside of it was the size of a Manatee and he was offering pulled pork sandwiches to everyone. At the time, I wasn't a fan of pulled pork so I did not take him up on his offer. After lots of alcohol and nowhere to get food, I asked for some. By that time, he had run out of buns and filled up a red solo cup. Being a huge fan of a proper bread to meet ratio on a sandwich, I was very disappointed with the no bun situation. That is, until I took my first sip/chug. Words can't describe it so I won't bother. I must have had seven or more cupfuls. Absolutely amazing. So much so, that I became a junkie eating pulled pork everywhere I went chasing the dragon of that first time at Swamp Buggy Races. After at least a few (3?) years of hunting - I found it. Spanky's Speakeasy. Better, even. Mayby I think this one is better because I can't remember how good the first one was or maybe the first one was so good because I was so drunk. Either way, this one comes with a bun which I'm a big fan of. It's so similar in flavor and texture to rick's, I could have sworn it was him cooking. anytime someone says they like pork I bring them to spanky speakeasy and I can't drive by without stopping in for one and if I don't stop in I think about it for days afterwards. Fast forward even more time. It's been at least five or six years since I've had Rick's pulled pork at Swamp Buggy races. I'm at the Swamp Buggy races. Rick is there. I tell him the entire story above but as soon as I get to spanky's speakeasy part, he stops me dead in my tracks and tells me to hold that thought. He runs over to his wife and stops her from the story she's telling and he walks her back to me and tells me to tell her exactly what I just told him. When I do, she has a look of shock on her face and I am in the dark. I ask them what's going on and, in shock, they tell me that Rick learned how to make pulled pork from the original owner of spanky's speakeasy over 30 years prior!! I found the recipe through years of taste testing. Come try the pork is what I'm trying to say. 😎 Thanks for reading.

I’ve past Spanky’s hundreds of times but never stopped. It was brought to my attention after someone on the local Facebook page posted request for best salad bar in Naples. Spanky’s kept coming up so I now had to try it. I can say I was not disappointed one bit. I grabbed my google review partner (my mother in law) and two of her friends and off we went. I figured who better to review a restaurant than three senior citizen women. LOL We arrived for the early bird but Spanky’s is much more than that. They had a nice variety of steaks, chicken, seafood and pork and lamb chops too. The appetizer list was plentiful as well. I came for the salad bar and was not disappointed. Two types of lettuce, cukes, carrots, peppers, onions, mushrooms, bean salad, cole slaw, and much much more. Soup was included on the salad bar along with these delicious thin breadsticks. I was personally pleased to find my favorite salad bar item, bacon bits. The ranch dressing was good and I had to go back for seconds. Three of us ordered the Prime Rib early bird and one ordered the shrimp platter. For the shrimp, you had a choice of fried or grilled. Each meal came with choice of baked or sweet potato and mixed veggies. The prime rib was an 8oz cut and plenty for me as I filled up on salad. My three guest all completely enjoyed their meal. I can not forget the service as our waitress Sarah was excellent. The ambiance inside is unique and definitely worth stopping just to see it. We did not stop in the bar, but it too was cozy and very welcoming. It had a local bar feeling and I will need to go back and check it out. Go check it out, you won’t regret it!!

Spanky's is an old fashioned Florida diner type restaurant. The décor is a nod to the Little Rascals and it feels like being in a den or kitchen of the 1970's- dark wood furniture, dark wood walls, random collectibles on the walls-- throwback in a good way. The service was wonderful. Jenny, the server, was prompt and friendly. Our iced tea was never empty. Another server noticed food left on a plate and brought over a to-go container without having to be asked. Very impressive. My party of three each ordered different items. I had the $14.95 prime rib Early Brid and it was a generous 8 ounce portion, served with a popover. The presentation was simple, but the taste was very good. Others ordered the full rack of ribs and chicken tenders-- each with an accompanying soup/salad bar. Both truly enjoyed their meals. We all concurred that while there is not a ton of spices or flavoring (normal for South Florida), the food was really good. This is the second time I've eaten here and I will definitely be back.

The salad bar was clean & fresh. Corn chowder was overloaded corn. Rib dinners were good. Seafood platter shrimp (tasted from frozen)was not fresh tasting. Stuffing was loose crab no solid texture.. Scallops tasted boiled not grilled plate was watery . Piece of white fish no taste and mushy. no separation flake with fork. Chicken picatta boiled ? Rubbery... no taste very mushy. Waitress nice but when comments made on food .. No comment at all. I believe for the price of food 21-25$ per person quality is not there ! Sadly I feel busy place but return people are the for atmosphere maybe? diffinitly salad bar or don't choose seafood or chicken but not food quality. Disappointed on the quality what we thought it would taste like.

We came in for dinner. I had never been here before but my wife had. The atmosphere was nice. Lots of memorabilia from the 50s and 60s. Our server was very nice and attentive. The salad and soup bar was ok; a fair amount of selections. The food was so so. I had the cheese steak and my wife had the chicken parmigiana. My cheese steak was mostly flat meat that had no flavor. Not much in the way of onions, cheese or peppers. The chicken parm my wife had looked good but I didn’t try it so I can’t comment on it. IDK. I can’t recommend it but you can take your chances and see what you think. I am not inclined to come back.
